My name is Paul, I'm 16, and I have a drinking problem.

Thanks Dig, i think many people here don´t understand the word "alcoholic".
You can certain have "problems" when drinking when you´re that young
but that does not relate in anyway that you can predict that "this" or "that" peoples are going too get in trouble with drinking.
I can agree that alcohol in general causes massive damage and cost for
the social-welfare and it´s nothing that we should ignore by any means.
There also seem´s too be many/or a couple here that speaks from NO experience whatsoever, and while that´s good for you that certainaly not make you a Judge over the rest.
IMHO the only people that know´s this is the one who has selfdom experience, mark my words on that.

Hehe okay as most people have pointed out don't believe the extremist against or for alcohol. Out of this entire thread I would say ninelven has put it the best. Basically steps to drinking,

know your limits, have some around around sober if you plan to be drinking a lot (just in case there is a need for someone with sense and there has been times where I've seen its really helped to have someone sober or multiple people if someone gets a little too violent really drunk)
always drink plenty of water (one glass of water for every drink, you will be pissing like hell but it helps ensure you get a regular flow out and helps keep your stomach and brain happy)
don't drive, ride bicycles, operate heavy machinery (I would hope that one's obvious)

4. Your liver can process approximately 1oz. of alcohol an hour.
Just want to make note that figure can vary widely though its basically for those who are white of european descent. Asians can be up to a magnitude worse than that and Native Americans can process up to twice that amount. The more though your body can process the more likely you will get addicted though.

Also drinking a 40 in almost an hour isn't that bad. Is a little on the high side for avg but not awful in comparison to some people. Heh you prolly wouldn't have much issue doing a power hour though unlike a lot of people (1 shot of beer every minute) which results in most people throwing up.

Major problem with alcohol in the states is its definately not cultural taught by parents to their children, which to me is a huge issue and does lead to higher abuse amongst college kids than other countries.

£1.99 for a pint of stella.
Eh why is a pint of Stella's so expensive in England? I can get that over at a bar near my apt for $2.

started off with vodka then did some whisky (my fav) then went on to some 151 and a mind eraser .
All I have to say for shots of 151 is that stuff burns like hell.

Oh which reminds me, don't do or make flaming drinks while drunk! Easy to get burn that way (which I know from experience :p) or easily do worse and then not react in a way to aid the situation.

Everything is expensive here, and beer is quite heavily taxed. "Stealth tax" as its becoming known, its why filling up a car from empty to full will set you back £40 as well.

I don't know if you could really call Excise Duty a "Stealth tax" - we've had it for hundreds of years and any increases are mentioned in the budget! The theory here is to tax something which isn't good for us so we use less of it (drink, in this case). Doesn't appear to be working from where I'm standing though! ;)

If the cost of fuel in US was raised to the same levels as in the UK, I think they'd have another revolution! 8)

Well no, but increasing it every other budget sure is. Damn true bout the second point though, they came close enough with the rescent round of price hikes which still don't come near to what we pay.
