He also proved that it's easy to obtain shitty, high calorie food at a low cost that is highly marketed and very convenient.

You can do much worse by going into a supermarket, get stuff cheaper and probably just as fast. People need to take some responsibility of their own actions.

Fat Head was much better and includes some valuable information like the importance of keeping blood sugar from getting too high too often and that fat isn't bad for you, but instead is a valuable macro nutrient.

As a small aside, McDonald's food actually isn't particulary cheap in Scandinavia, and Norway in particular... Of course, it's not healthier just because it's more expensive... HMMM! :p (Still widely advertised though, of course.)

You should see the episode of 30 Days (Morgan Spurlock's tv show) where a guy tries to use an anti-aging program (hormone therapy) to regain his college-level swimming fitness.
Mind giving us who have no access to such materials the cliffs notes version of the show? :)

Imo it was even worse than Super Size Me. It's been a while since I saw it, but basically a guy starts a testosterone therapy, first everything goes well, but then he starts getting all sort of symptoms including raging. I felt like the outcome of the documentary was decided before they started filming, I think that's what Spurlock is basically about.

The guy goes from having a normal healthy sperm count to firing blanks. He has all kinds of other mood problems etc. After he stops the program he returns to normal.

The doctor he goes to is very extreme. When the test subject shows his personal trainer (a huge body-builder) all of the things he's taking, the trainer basically tells him to stop because he was a professional body-builder and never took that much stuff.

If that is actually true, as in his dosages were really at that high level, then it's further proof that the whole show was rigged. It's in no way normal to describe such a high dosages and it's something that isn't normally done.

I have to see it again, but I'd quess the whole thing was planned pretty carefully.

I don't know. They went to a doctor that runs a very popular anti-aging clinic, and he put this guy on their program. I don't think that part of the show is dishonest. The other clients of that business would presumably get the same "treatment." Whether that program is the norm amongst anti-aging clinics, I wouldn't know. The part where the guys wife gets upset because of his new problem seemed very real to me.

He takes the HGH and testosterone which I'm guessing is the part that really screwed up his moods and sperm count.

The other thing he takes is a bunch of supplements in pill form. The bodybuilder/personal trainer tells him it's useless to put that many supplements in his body because his kidney essentially can't process that much. I think the pills were stuff like fish oil and just other over the counter type of stuff.

The whole point of it is to say that you can't dramatically change your metabolism and end up with as much energy that you had as a teenager by just injecting some hormones or taking some pills, despite the fact that there's a huge market of people who believe in those remedies. It's debatable how different people's moods will react to some extra testosterone but I thought they did a good job showing the negative consequences, I mean you can't fake a sperm count.

I watched it again and it wasn't as bad as I remembered, still it would have been nice to know the exact amounts of everything etc. Maybe the doctor was bit out there and did something different than others as he died quite shortly after the episode aired. Usually sperm count shouldn't go to zero if you get only little testosterone in addition to your own, but if you get a lot, then it supresses your own production and then that sort of stuff occurs.

Anyway I saw "RED" yesterday, thought it was fairly entertaining, but nothing spectacular. 3.25/5

Finally watched Tangled. Lots of good things about this movie, even if it misses that small something to make it a classic. Beautiful imagery, incredible animation, perhaps a bit too many clichés but still a pretty good job.

Not sure how much was left of the original that they've started more than 6 years ago, it was a very ambitious project and they went through many revisions to get it done - and yet it still turned out to be definitely better than Bolt or the Robinsons :)

Actually, you may be able to, just by making sure the first two 'gushes' miss the cup and only deposit what comes after (assuming that is, there is anything else ;) ) ... or was there a camera on him?

Thanks for the image :devilish:

Now Officially a Top 10 Poster
Same as with sperm - quality, not quantity, is what counts :D

I saw a video of Arwin somewhere, kind of reminded me of Paranormal Activity the movie for some reason...

Yeah his technique is so far beyond us common wankers, that it almost seems unreal. The thing is they are quite liberal in Netherlands and thus are exposed to these things at a young age, that's why they can start practising early, when you suck information like a sponge and learn things really fast. The speed and the furiosity is just totally off the charts. Totally blew my mind as well. The rest of us never stood a chance

Well look at that...

 Just because we can't extinquish a candle from 4 meters away with the sixth gush, doesn't mean that the rest of us don't have 3 gushes within us!!

Ok I stop now. hehe

Hmmm! TRON on Blu-Ray (and scruffy ol' DVD, heh) in ~10 days! I can't wait. :)

Actually, I didn't think the movie was all that super great - certainly not anywhere near as original and ground-breaking as its forefather - but it was a tremendous audio-visual experience and I enjoyed it from that perspective.

I am very eager to re-experience it again from the comfort of my own home.

Lb,
what do you think of the al fayed michael jackson statue ?
I thought you would appreciate a large erection outside the home of the cottagers ;)

Sucker Punch: 8/10. I'm not sure why this is getting all those negative reviews, it's a good movie.
I had a bad feeling about this movie, so I just spoiled the story for myself with reviews ... glad I did, I would not have found the story acceptable. Not going to bother with it.

Basically the only reasonable conclusion, mad girl fantasizes and gets lobotomised ... with some dialogue/commentary pretending there is some actual importance to the lol randum stuff happening but which you can ultimately not take seriously, and thus depriving it of any impact ... no spill over between fantasy and reality like in say Paprika, the Matrix or Videodrome to show there is some importance to the fantasy. At best everything was a dream ... and we all know how good a story that is.
