Movie Reviews 2.0

After watching that trailer I really want the 2012 thing to be true. We'd deserve it. There simply is no hope for humanity.

So, It started this weekend past but I only got to see it yesterday.

First, I never saw any trailers or anything regarding this movie so it was a suprise to see the posters and stuff out for the movie starring Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman and Karl Urban with Mary-Louise Parker playing the other leasd role along side Bruce's character Frank RED Moses. RED standing for Retired Extremely Dangerous.

The movie is apparently based off a character from DC comics as you see the DC logo at the beginning of the movie. The movie starts with Frank in his house, keeping to himself and trying to be neighbourly at the same time. Frank also has a habit of calling Sarah Ross(played by Mary-Louise) to find out about his check from the government, although he really likes her voice and they kind of have a phone relationship. He eventually proposes that they meet but that night all hell breaks lose and you get to meet the real Frank RED Moses.

Frank is actually a retired CIA operative and for some reason the CIA have now decided to 'retire him permanently' and Sarah becomes entangled in Franks world which includes Malkovich's character Marvin, Helen's character Victoria and Morgan's character Joe as they all try and stay alive after the CIA send Karl's character William to kill Frank and anyone with him.

It was a really, really good movie and there are lots of comedic moments in the movie which made it even more enjoyable. All the characters are excellently portrayed imo.

9/10 - Highly recommended

I think you're joking, but in case you're not, Zooey is not in Caprica. Although that chick looks a lot like her.

Wasn't joking, thought it was really her lol. That's a startling resemblance.

Unstoppable

Went and watched this last night. Denzel Washington and Chris Pine are both pretty good in this movie(well Washington is always good in all his movies) and Tony Scott directing so you know it's going to be a quality movie. Rosario Dawson also features in this movie.

Based on a true story, the movie follows a train that loses it's driver and then goes on a unmanned run at top speed 70MPH. I wasn't too sure how a movie about a train would turn out(thought it would be a bit boring) but it wasn't.

Dawson plays a train controller that has to manage the train as it goes on it's way through 3 counties with a toxic payload that can decimate any town it passes if it derails. Washlington plays a veteran train conductor(driver) and Pine plays a four month trained conductor who is set out by the train company to replace Washington's character in the near future never mind the respective dramas that both characters have with their own personal lives.

It's action from the start to the end and it's definitely worth the while to watch.

8/10

Agreed on Unstoppable. 8/10. Quite fun and entertaining throughout. Nothing too deep ofcourse.

HPaDH. 7/10. Slow and inconsistant pacing. They setting up for the finale ofcourse. I like the filming style and set pieces though.

Awesome movie. Title sequence is classic, and is one of my favourite songs:

The 4 part follow up series on Channel4 was great too.

Finally got a chance to see Inception. Pretty entertaining action flick, even if it's a bit predictable after the first 20 minutes. Give it a 7/10.

As well, saw Despicable Me. Very cute film. Not a whole lot of substance, but has its funny moments. Give it a 8/10.

And finally the Expendables. Not quite sure what to give this one. Gave it bonus points for seeing so many 80's action superstars in one film, but had to knock off about 2 points just for the extremely laughable torture scene by the "badass" flaunting his inhumanity in runnig this island nation into the ground. Seriously, waterboarding? A method of interrogation meant to appease the squeamish public being used by an uncaring despot who obviously couldn't care less what people thought of him? Seriously? LoL. If not for that Scene I'd probably it it a 7 or maybe a 7.5 out of 10. But as is. 5.5/10.

SB

I honestly can't remember if i posted about this movie, but i watched Jennifer's Body again the other night and my god it is pure genius. No idea why it sort of bombed. Maybe it's just too genius.

EDIT: If i posted about Jennifer's Body again then blame my schizofrenia.

Bronson- 9/10

Up until seeing this movie, I had never heard of Michael Gordon Peterson. And if this movie is even remotely an accurate depiction of his life, he's a complete lunatic. Apparently, he's The United Kingdom's "most violent prisoner." This being the second Nicolas Winding Refn movie I've seen, I've really developed an affinity for his movies. "Valhalla Rising" was phenomenal, and "Bronson" didn't disappoint, either.

Mr Reynolds, only after all these years you tell me you've been thinking about my - admittedly very impressive - gluteus maximus?! I've been in love with you since day 1!

Fight it London Boy you've already taken the first movie step to hetrosexuality, watching a film just because you like looking at the actress. Now for the next movie step - Lesbian Porn
