More R350 Info

I still remember an email from nVidia, in which they boasted how much ahead of the curve they were going to be, as a result of all the work that went into .13u.

Not only was it going to allow them to crush the R300, but it would give them a significant jump when ATI eventually transitioned to .13u.

This is a pretty good example of PR guys buying into everything that the engineering folks were spoon feeding them.

As stated, I would laugh pretty hard if ATI is able to release a 400 MHz. R350...It would _really_ make the nVidia engineers look like a bunch of schmucks :)

I think it makes atis engineers look really good. :)

I'll bet that the RV350 has 128-bit interface with DDR-II memory. The clock speed will be higher than the the R300 and less than or equal to that of the R350. I have heard rumors that it will have a core about the size of the 9000 (in area not transistors). It should be really cheap for ATI to produce and have better than 9500Pro performance (9600 gives is away). The chip will probably overclock however ATI will couple it with memory that doesn't overclock much.

The B3D community never ceases to surprise.
