Sorry if old, but here's more information about XBox 360 and Revolution. Apparently MS will make a big show at E3 and Nintendo won't.

If they continue like that their market share is going to shrink even more...

Exactly! Where's Nintendo's MTV show???

Revolution probably won't launch until late 2006. Xbox 360 is coming out this year, so Nintendo doesn't have to show its hand just yet.

Imo, E3 is the single most important gaming show in the world (yes, even more than the TGS). No, it's certainly not for the 'average gamer' (hard to quantify what that is anyhow) but enough press will be there that will feed into the hype process which is consumed by the 'average gamer'. Not appearing at this E3 is more likely a sign that they simply aren't ready to show much OR wish to avoid a head on collision with MS and Sony.
what was the last revolutionary thing that was released ?When is the last time something revolutionary purposely missed the E3 so it could be hidden? Consider the development cycle for the next Nintendo console when you give your answer.
Or are they just waiting so they can steal some ideas from Sony and MS[url said:http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=58675[/url]]Nintendo may leave Sony and Microsoft to squabble amongst themselves over who's got the best next-gen console at this year's E3, according to reports.
Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 will go on show at the event, but reports from Japan say the Nintendo Revolution will remain under wraps. There'll be a few rolling demos of games currently in development, but no console and no revolutionary controller on display.
So why the decision to stay out of the limelight? Well, it seems that Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata is worried about rivals nicking all his best ideas at this early stage. That's how revolutionary the new console is, apparently... and also the exact same line Nintendo used to avoid showing Mario 128 at a previous E3.
So what exactly can we expect to see on the Nintendo stand? Well, most of the space will be devoted to promoting the new Nintendo Online service. It'll be demonstrated using the DS, and it's thought that the Revolution could have a wireless router capability for hooking up the handheld to the internet. All this will be explained at the publisher's May 17 conference.
Other stuff on show will include the new Zelda game - we're promised that a playable demo will be available. Plus Pokémon XD for GameCube, Emerald for GBA and Diamond and Pearl for DS - the latter two featuring online functionality.

Oh I absolutely agree with the part about premature hype - in fact I stated that they likely didn't have much to show. I was only replying to your part about the average gamer not caring about E3.
The average gamer doesn't read gaming mags, gaming shows, or shop at gaming shops.
