Microsoft Xbox E3 2013 Events - Xbox: A new Generation of Games Revealed

At this point I suggest you read the above page of posts and stop there. E3 as a show is often 'smoke and mirrors' where loosely hung-together demos are put in front of the masses without proper testing, and short-cuts and deceptions are used to try and present what the final game will look like. There are plenty of rational explanations that don't require belief either in MS being utterly evil and deceiving us all, not that XB1 has secret extra power that MS randomly refuse to tell anyone about.

Oh, and the latter option you provide is clearly false because MS provided us with 768 operations per clock on their GPU, and they won't have a 2GHz GPU in there. ;)

It'd be nice if you could change the listen prompt from "Xbox" to something else, name your XBone.

I'd call it XBone, or HAL.

Tony Stark called his XB1 "Jarvis" It was running on an Oracle Exadata backend utilising the power of the Cloud

Even the tunners in window's pcs do their own thing. Recording tv shows takes zero resources (other than I/o) to do . My centon card does all that . tis play back that you need a dual core 2ghz cpu for.
There are no tuners in the One. It only has HDMI in, so you would have to take an uncompressed HDMI stream, compress it, stream it to disk, all using only the system reservation. And if your IR blaster messes up, you get the wrong show. You can only do one show at a time. It would be a parade of fail compared to a standard Tivo or other DVR.

Can we all just agree to call it "The Bone"?

Calling it "The One" has too much of a Matrix feel to it.

I prefer X1 myself.

Also, this new generation has to be the most convoluted messaging wise by MS and Sony. Although mostly MS regarding DRM, saves, 24 hr connect requirement, Gold family household sharing.

I know.

But my TiVo worked fine for a good 6 years with just ir blasters on a crappy cablevision cable box.

they are going to demo the xbox one on fallon tonight should be on in a few minutes. I think they are doing forza but i'm hoping they have spark.

I hate the Xbox one name because it breaks Google . Trying to search for Xbox one brings a ton of info on the first Xbox.

Really I just want to know if xbone supports windows media center. At this point it wouldn't shock if it didn't...

Interesting, he said the X1 was 3 times the power of the 360... Maybe that downclock rumor has legs after all...

I think he mis-spoke after watching it again. From what they've shown, it's hard to believe only 3x the X360.

I'm guessing they will clarify....so many convoluted messages this new generation.

This is just crazy. Ms needs to clean house.

Really the only thing that will make me get xbone is media center extender support at this point. It will blow my mind if xbone doesn't support extenders functions that built into the x360.

Maybe he got his marketing flops crossed, and the XBO got upclocked and now has 3TFLOPs of processing power! Or maybe MS needs to muzzle their marketing dept?

Thats got to be a mistake surely, we are approaching wii u territory here.
It is neither good nor bad? It just is what it is? I mean, it would certainly make no sense after such an investment in the hardware. Could a hardware like that make Forza 5 run at 1080p and Killer Instinct or Ryse? He is wearing a Crackdown t-shirt by the way :)

Perhaps he said the number wrongly like in this video.

Phil Spencer says he should've said 8x.

Or maybe 10x. I'm sure someone has also said 40x. It all makes perfect sense.

He seems to have a habit of messing up numbers. :p

The T-shirt advertising continues. XD
