Are the numbers a bit off or is it just me? That's basically saying that they sold 14 million xbox's before Jan 2004.

So if I understand this right, it affects all xboxes manufactured before Jan. 13. 2004 in Europe.
And it's only now they are recalling the leads back!?!?

That's what i thought, rabid. We have never heard of a fire caused by the Xbox, and the thing has been out for years. So i'm not really sure why they're doing this now...

A cable does not cost 1 dollar to make. And hey, it's still much cheaper than the 500million they apparently spent for the initial ad campaign...
but the shipping of new and old cables and xboxes back and forth costs too, plus all else that is included.
So, um... where are all the lawsuits? Comments like "Peter Moore, a corporate vice president, said the company has known about the problem for some time and spent the past several months gearing up for the recall by producing more cords and making other arrangements." and Microsoft's deep pockets tends to make me think people with charred hands and emotional scarring would come after them for at least a cool million.
