Microsoft gets exclusive Marvel MMO contract

Though you can surely do that in any super-hero MMO. The only aspect that'll differ I imagine is 1) specific implementation and 2) NPCs and areas that relate to known franchises, such as Gotham City.

I'd choose the better game over a particular universe, though I see Marvel has got the existing X-Men story to build a structural sound game, as opposed to just lots of superheroes (EQ like numbers? 100,000+ gamers online with superheros?! ) running around being heroic.

Though personally I can't see the appeal. I guess it'll be more akin to FPSes than MMORPGs, as there surely won't be character development and 'Capes of +2 Infravision' to keep players occupied.

 

I was hoping for a next gen action game with the option to select any Marvel villain or hero and be able to go online and battle other people in a 3D world. Too bad this will never happen...
