MAG

Thank you !! V_V

Whereas before, the Beta version of MAG only offered six maps and two modes, the retail version has a full five modes with 15 maps to play. The final game also includes a handy offline training mode, unique armors, new cinematics, art galleries, trophies, and the always-popular Veteran Mode that lets you start all over again with a permanent XP bonus and the ability to switch your faction after hitting the level cap. Of course, graphical and audio improvements are in there too.

Among these upgrades is the oft-asked-for ability to knife an enemy while you’re reloading your weapon — in addition to a pretty significant framerate increase during player-heavy games and noticeable differences in the effectiveness of every weapon and piece of armor. Moreover, we’ve gone back and added all-new light settings for every environment and increased the amount of time you can sprint before getting tired.

Sounds incredible ! Love the small patch as opposed to the 1.8Gb one in beta. \o/

It's out ? I see people posting impressions already:

So I got level 22 in under 5 hours.
4.0 K/D ratio so far.

The LMGs are still overpowered so I'm gonna take full advantage of these things until Zipper nerfs them.

There are still pop-ins but not much rubberbanding.

The skins for armor are now locked so you gotta level up really high to unlock them all.
I didn't even see the Face Wrap for SVER at all. Not sure what level you're supposed to get it at.

The pre-order skins are more than just cosmetic.
You actually get a medium-heavy armor set (Enhanced Ballistic Vest) that costs 800c.

OK, too tired. Gonna go to sleep for a few hours then wake up for class.
I'll try to add anyone to the SVER clan when I get up. Just PM me your exact PSN ID.

I think I'll switch to JPT's faction.

Click was one of the elite RFOM players in the GAF clan. Would hate to fight him in MAG. ^_^
I spawned right behind him in RFOM before, I still ended up dead while he walked away. Since then, I have been avoiding him in RFOM (if we end up on different side that is).

Well, early reviews are hovering around the 7 to 8 mark. the majority of comments are saying the game relys to much on how other people/team mates play it. The beta in this regard i found be really great, rarely did i find people wandering off or doing their own thing, unsure as to what they were doing. Opinions are like ar$eholes of course, and well...................

There might be 256 on screen at some point, but it's not super likely, since everyone has objectives to look after, and they don't really funnel down. But I imagine that if everyone wanted to converge on objective A, they could (and possibly crash the server).

Heh heh, can't blame the reviewers if what they saw were the betas. I am of the opinion that the MAG betas have hurt the game. That's why I was surprised the pre-order number is so high. May be it could be higher. :)

Will get the game in about an hour's time.

BTW, I am one of those who wander off frequently to learn the maps and kill snipers. Don't shoot me. I can't help it !

So, how does the 256 players really work? There aren't 256 on screen at any point, right? How are they segmented?

They are not segmented per se. You can leave your squad/objective and go join others if you want to. Your faction will usually be give 3-5 tasks to do at the same time. You're free to roam around at any point in time. You can also ride in vehicles to go to other parts of the map.

lol, have you broke the 2 minute barrier in the academy demo yet?!

Yeah maybe, they should get up a 256 match and instead of fighting, all agree to meet up at objective A, form several columns, do a rendition of Michael Jackson Thriller's dance routine and see how the game holds up. LOL

We tried that in RFOM. I am sure if the game is good, people will want to take in-game group photo. We can divide into groups if framerate or lag becomes a problem.

In RFOM, our clan size was bigger than the party limit. So we had more than one photo sessions anyway.

For the normal car?

Oh... you mean travelling in vehicles ? No, I dropped off quickly when the MPV rammed into a building :)lol:). They always bumped into something or someone. The helicopter ride and parachuting is more fun IMHO.

EDIT: I got it !

The game is designed so that in the beginning the attacking team has objectives at the outer borders of the map. There you will not see much of what is going on with other players in other parts, the maps are huge.
After these objectives are eventually taken theres another ring of objectives more inwards. And because there are not that many of them you will see more players with and against you.
Finally there`s a set of objectives near the center of the map where all comes together and it gets really intense.

I played the beta and feel that MAG doesn't have a steep learning curve at all. Then again, I love playing fps games..Anyways, Im starting to like the game a bit more and it feels great playing the game with my xbox 360 pad.
