I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but hardware/software talk seemed reasonable.
My girlfriend managed to drop her laptop about 20 inches onto carpet and now the LCD screen is completely black; no dimmed images or anything, simply solid black. I've taken it apart and checked all the connections to the screen, inverter, and the motherboard and everything looks fine. When hooked up to any kind of external monitor, the laptop works fine so I would tend to think the problem is not on the motherboard.
So I was wondering if anyone could point me in another direction? I don't want to go out and get a new screen if its not where the problem really is; any advice would be appreciated.
