journalism + tech *spin*

I think we're on the Virge of thread closure unless you can convince me of some Real 3D discussion going on. :yep2:

or... post moving at Mach 64 speeds.

What game sites are we talking about here exactly? I frequent a lot of them, and I've never heard about that. Not even in the form of a throwaway news article.

The press doesn't know what they're talking about 99% of the time. They'll just repeat buzzwords and figures to appear like they do.

I will give a few examples that pop up in google news feeds that are consistently biased and use presentations as basis for clickbait.
Cinema blend(gaming blend), Gamepur, Gaming bolt, Redgamingtech.
I really didnt mean for my comment to spawn a new thread.
I guess I should have keep it to myself.

thats true. and this is not just in video game but also in normal newspaper.

they usually have experts in politics, etc. But in technology and health, most of the time they are clueless. Heck, google's April Fool technology even turn up in a featured article in newspaper in my country (and they think it was real).

So we're not talkin about proper game sites, but random bloggers no-one really gives a shit about. And quite frankly, if one GPU can calculate the movement of twice as many dancers, then that's probably just what it is.

Sorry, but considering how much shit the PS3 was getting during its first couple of years on the market, the One is basically getting pampered by most sites.

If you want to classify gaming sites that get lots of hits as not proper gaming sites that's up to you I guess. I won't disagree, but don't underestimate the reach of re-blog sites like that.

PS3 news was interpreted through the lens of ' bu bu terraflop lazydevs cell', to the extent that when GTA 4 came out several ' proper' gaming sites talked about the ps3 version finally showing ps3 superiority because of better frame rate and being better looking because either: a) it looked softer and more cinematic or b) ' sharper' and therefore being higher resolution.

Thank the lord for Digital Foundry.
