Is 360 price drop in Australia here?

Looks to be so. Big W now have the Premium for $538 - RRP is $599. And it's not a special, so it looks like something has dropped.

Is this official or is this just one retailer selling at well below RRP? Any other sitings out there?

Cheers

Edit: a quick comparison - PS3 is $999 and Wii is $399. Cheers

Yep no official price cuts so far. In Finland some stores are selling the premium for 329€ and Gears of War bundle for 349€ and that's without any mail in rebates or any of the sort.

THought I'd throw this in here, new OXM rumors making the rounds at forums says price cut for all 360 SKU's Nov 22.

The observed price drop in Australia might be due to the AUD/USD exchange rate rather than being indicative of a world wide price drop. Imported goods into Australia now have very good prices so MS Australia might just be passing on the saving to the consumers rather than keeping it themselves.

360 has recently been $650 in NZ (with gears).
but that wasn't from everyone. A number at at 699. (the retail is 750).

wii is 500. ps3 is 1200.

I expect a fairly sizable cut before Christmas. Last year there was a $450 promotion for the core with kameo, giving the wii a nice welcome (that said the wii is dead here due to a complete lack of advertising).

What is surprising is that some of accessories are cheaper than their US equivalent price. The hd-dvd drive sells for the equiv' of 175 $usd and the 120gb hdd sells for ~155. The elite will be $849, and is seeing some pretty surprising pre order interest.

PS3 sales, however, are low. The Hd-dvd addon seems to have more interest afaict.
