K.Y. Ho

K.Y. Ho, Chairman and CEO of ATI, was one of the co-founders. Here's a link where you can find out some basic info about him:

http://www.ati.com/companyinfo/press/1998/4139.html

To find out more, just do a search on google.com on "K Y Ho ATI Technologies".

I remember a couple of years ago (when ATI's stock was trading around C$30), he was featured in-depth in an article from Canadian Business magazine. You may want to start there.

Hope that helps you out.

Actually, I was kind of wondering something myself. I have a EE teacher at my University by the name of Ted McCracken. I am curious if anyone remembers the companies Amdek, or Vectrix. Anyhow, he was the president of both companies, and the latter one Vectrix, eventually went out of business because of S3's integrated Windows accelerator.

OpenGL Guy did you work at S3 around that time?

Don't think so. I didn't join S3 until 1999, right before the Savage 4 was released. I presume you were talking about S3's 2D products, such as the 968, Trio64, etc.?

Hehe, I don't think anybody from S3 at that age is posting on these forums. :p I've heard the names of those companies, but that's about it. Those would be in the very early days of S3 when S3 named their chips after Porsches, probably circa the 911/928.

Yes, this was back in '91 that they released the integrated windows accelerator he talks about. Sorry didn't mean to offend anyones age ;)
