Imagine this: playing PS3 on your PSP?

As I was thinking about the possibilities with the Location Free Station features with the PS3 and the PSP, this crazy idea struck me.

Let's say in some years, when broadband speeds , especially "up", are getting pretty high. Would it be possible to "play" a PS3 with game at any locaton with wifi using the PSP (controlling and watching everything on screen) but let all work be done by your PS3 at home? I mean, it receives your button combinations and reacts by feeding the visuals back in approximately real time.
I guess it would need quite fast broadband, but isn't it theoretically doable?

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, I didn't find anything with a search.

Well, given the right speeds, of course it can be done! Not sure how long it will take, but i think it could happen sooner than we expect.

If its a fast paced game (like a fighting game or most any action game), you're likely going to run into some latency problems...

Something like a JRPG (or even most western rpgs) where the game waits on you seems feasible -- any game that can sustain a 50-200ms latency and still be enjoyable is a likely target. You wouldn't necessarily even need much more than the broadband connections of today (cable or so -- ~4mbit?) -- PS3 could probably be run in a lower resolution mode if it was to be compatible with such a setting and then compress the images and send em, and the PSP would just uncompress them (if needed) every frame... or PSP could actually run part of the game and PSP/PS3 could send only the necessary information -- that method could be kind of cool for a mini game type situation, where it would be loaded to the psp and then you'd play it on there and the PS3 would get some sort of result from it.

There is a lot of promise for PSP/PS3 interactivity, but until PSP/PS3 have a rather sizable install base I wouldn't expect anything but first party Sony studio to even consider such things.

we already discussed this many many months ago and I believed such a thing could be possible . In real world though, it would be more logical to stream and play movies or other content straight from your ps3.
Hm, lets start our own internet TV and movie service :)

you already have digital sat receivers (like the Dreambox if anybody is familiar with) where you can stream and listen to the receiving signal trough the internet or lan
