PSP<->PS3 Adhoc Party

Another Adhoc Party "user observation":

Japanese PlayStation 3 owners have been enjoying Ad Hoc Party for nearly a year now, but when will we get it here in North America? Maybe as early as next week?

That's when fighting game Fate/Unlimited Codes releases for the PlayStation Portable, according to the official PlayStation.blog. That game's trailer promises that PSP owners can "play online with Ad Hoc mode." Fate/Unlimited Codes is one of the games that uses Ad Hoc Party for its online multiplayer in Japan, turning the PlayStation 3 into a multiplayer server for PSP games without an infrastructure mode built-in, so one might think it will do the same in America.

Take it with a large dose of salt.

It would help connect PSP online from home and offices. Someday, perhaps we may see a cellular network based PSP. ^_^

Since PSP 6.20 and PS3 3.10 were released yesterday, we never get to know the answer.

Anyways, adhoc Party coming up this afternoon according to the official PS Blog post for Monster Hunter:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/11/monster-hunter-freedom-unite-players-unite/

all of us PSPers here in North America will finally be able to jump on the adhocParty bandwagon as well.

It supports multiple PSPs connected to a single PS3:

You can connect several PSPs to a single PS3, so if you have 2 or 3 fellow hunters hanging out in your dorm room or at your house, while another friend is stranded at a distant location, you can all still play. Way to keep the band together!

The adhoc Party program can be downloaded from the PS Store.

I tried to use adhoc Party a few days ago, but got lost. The web browser guide doesn't open because the instruction page ran out of memory. :rolleyes:

If anyone is using it, what room do you usually use ? Do EU and US party servers map the same room # to the same network session ? (e.g., If Arwin and I go to room A38, will we see each other ?)

There's no EU version just yet. ;) But yeah, if I use the US version and we both go to A37, we'll see each other. Then we can create a game room there and start chatting and playing just about any ad-hoc game.

Aiight, I shall pick B34 (B3D) as my default room each time.

Thinking of replacing my "permanent" Patapon game with Monster Hunter 2. I need to do some research first (e.g., Differences between MH 1 and 2).
