Image Quality and Framebuffer Speculations for WIP/alpha/beta/E3 games *Read the first post*

Moderators may wish to delete this post later, but I was to this article a few minutes ago and it seemed odd that the explanations alongside the screens are similar to the discussion here.

Any of you gents happen to be the author here? I really don't like plagiarism.

I'd say it's much more likely the author of that article reads this forum. ;)

Sorry for the confusion, but that was my point  I wasn't pointing fingers at anyone here claiming that AIStrong or joker plagiarized the article, but the reverse.

If no one minds that or either of them is the author of the article, then that's fine. I just felt compelled to point it out.

What about the low res explosions in Lost Planet 360? I remember that Japanese site doing the postmortem..

Doesn't that show 360 cant always handle particles/explosions as well? Or is it just better at it, but not good enough?

Just shows we need more GPU power..high resolution explosions next gen would be nice..

The reason they did that was for fillrate purposes IIRC. As sebbbi explained, bandwidth is not the only reason for using a reduced particle buffer, and when combined with MSAA/QAA, the obviety of the lower res buffer is not quite so bad as without.

Ryu Gatokou 3 is up on the PS Store and boy is it the most upscaled game i ever seen on PS3. It must have been running at PAL resolution or something, whats with all the PS3 upscaling and HD gen.

First shots of the game, with the standard 720p resolution:

Now, later shots given to Game Watch here are all in 1024x576:

Siren Blood Curse was running at 1024x512, so that still holds the record for the lowest resolution on the system yet. If the aforementioned RGG3 resolution is true.

Maybe the demo is a old build?.

Can't tell until the full game is out I guess, most likely wont goto 720P but I hope it does.

I think the WWE on PS3 is the lowest of any system so far, lower than Siren and lower MSAA.

The demo is what Mazinger analyzed, and that's the final resolution (1024x768) with the game out on the 26th. I was merely pointing out the discrepancy in shots earlier on, guessing that Game Watch's screens were the native res.

Oh, I thought the game was still a little away.

Good to know its close, and the reso isn't a problem, hell its the same as MGS4's.

The combat videos and pics posted are way better than those SO4 pics posted in this site

Is it probably just bad grabbing equipment ?
