How much will 65nm CPU and GPU help Xbox360

You know I was thinking. (Yeah that gets me into trouble sometimes, but I digress) Ever since the RROD issues starting becoming more public this past year I've seen comments like Akumajou that say that they'll wait till the 65nm CPU comes out, or Falcon or now 65nm GPU. I was in similar boat last year, but looking back over the past 8 months of having my X-mas 360, I'm starting to realize that I could care less. I got 8 months of pure enjoyment out of the thing. Sure my console is more likely to die on me than the new ones out now or coming, but the fact of the matter is that I STILL GOT 8 MONTHS of enjoyment out of it. For those sitting on the fence waiting for a smaller, cheaper, cooler CPU/GPU I say WHY? You want to play games right? Why not get it now? From the comments it's not games or price holding you back, but just the hardware? That don't make a lot of sense. It almost sounds like a convenient excuse for not buying it. I could understand the apprehension before Microsoft announced the 3 year extended warranty, but right now you're safe. Sure you might have to send it back to get repaired, but even then that's 2-6 weeks worth of down time versus God knows how long before the new CPU/GPU comes out. Anyway, just something to think about. While you're waiting, I'll be playing Bioshock, Halo 3 and host of others. ;)

Smaller and cooler I can agree with, but for those waiting for cheaper, the reasons go beyond not wanting to have to send it back for a fix some months down the line! ;)

When I mentioned "cheaper" it was in regards to the manufacturing of the chips not the price of the console. I had already mentioned that those who were waiting for the 65nm CPU/GPU didn't seem wholly concerned with the price of the console. But I could understand price being the sole reason for some people sitting on the fence. They're not willing to buy the console at a high price, no matter what kind of chips are inside. But my original point was that if the console has the games you want to play and price of the console is not a concern, then I don't see why people should deny themselves the experience just because of the chips inside the box are not the latest and greatest. Capisce? ;)

I've got my friend to play 360, and all we ever play is Gears of War anyway. ;) Hence, I can certainly wait!

The triple gate oxide should help a ton with the Ileak, but their 90nm process should have that too, no?

Is there actually any indication that they're going with a triple gate oxide design? I'd expect the usual 1.1V and 1.8V transistors to be all that's needed for a chip like this. I suppose they could be using some LP transistors in the core (ie 65LPG vs 65GP), but the benefit doesn't seem too attractive from a cost perspective, in my opinion.
