Amazing game, its besting HZD in every way. Visually it does impress me just as much as zero dawn did when it launched on the PS4. HZD impressed with the amount of details like the ants crawling up the trees. Forbidden west tops that, for sure this wouldnt run all that well using old mechanical 5400rpm drives, amount of assets/detail even at large distances is something not many games do, if any. I really want this to be on PC/steam aswell. The PS5 is used by family members (mostly kids) so thats also a thing :p
Somehow YT doesnt do this game much favor, much less so then other titles. You have to see it to truly appreciate the graphical upgrade over the last one. First game on PS5 i'd say 'yeah, this is a good start of the next generation graphics'. Weirdly enough because i didnt expect much of it graphics wise but ok.
I hope GG will come with some MP focussed game with these kind of visuals.

Just came across a first in marketing. On my Amazon Prime TV Stick, the top banner showcases TV content I can watch, either Amazon's or other services. But today, there was H:FW. That's a clickable link to content you can't view/play on the Stick. I wonder what Sony paid to get that ad there and whether it pays off or not? It'll really only be of significant value to PS owners who weren't aware of the game otherwise.

Character detail is much better in Forbidden West, the biggest improvement for me so far has been the facial animation, it's night and day difference to Zero Dawn. Also, I think I've spent more than 10 hours in the first area

About 8 hours in here, switching controller with a family member here and there (and watching instead). Water must be a larger improvement, it was kinda bad in HZD going to one of the best water simulations ever done in game in FW.

Are you the uploader? Noticed that even butterflies de-fract (is it called that) light, never thought of that. Theres very much going on, very alive world, bugs etc flying around, winds moving trees, truly amazing. background music makes the athmosphere complete.

Great shots … I just passed the first snake boss. I had one hard crash in the game. Also managed to get stuck behind a border once almost right at the beginning but that was easily fixed with a restart from last save.

Very high detail and the loading times are a delight. It plays a bit like an open world Uncharted at times and looks it a bit too. It has a good pace if you just follow the story. I’m not a fan of this kind of boss fight but oh well. But there is some amazing depth in it compared to other games that is for sure in terms of how you can get loot from a boss etc. And great improvements in terms of water which is really nice now, especially also looking down into it and seeing fish and waterplaats etc.

Every once in a while there are bits with disappointing lighting though, but so far pretty rare. I may need to tweak the HDR a bit though not sure if the default is quite right, but it seems close at least.

For me the highlights were blown out so I had to lower them quite a bit for HDR to look good, I think it was the third option from the calibration page.

You saw an ad for a PlayStation game because the algorithm thinks/knows you have a PlayStation. It won't get served to everybody.

Really enjoying the game, you can technically enter the Forbidden West at level 5 but I was having such a good time in the Daunt, I didn't leave until level 12. The skills feel more impactful than they did in the first game. I've also maxed out Stealth Stalker in the Infiltrator skill tree and a bunch of other silent/stealth skills which basically makes you the predator. Hunting's also getting some love. I've become my Skyrim stealth archer.. again.
