HDTV (UK) for your next gen consoles

The whole LCD latency rating is still pretty bogus at the current state of LCD technology. It could be "8", it could be "16", but what they don't tell you is that figure was barely reached on essentially a single point on a curve that is screaming bloody murder to do it. Everywhere else on the curve is pretty far off from the "rated" figure. If panel manufacturers were to actually do something honest and rate according to where most of the curve lies (or even indicate what the max. latency is- oh, that would be quite bold), there would be no such thing as 8 ms and 16 ms panels...but that would be a sure-fire way to lose a specs race. ;) You may even find a good deal of CRT monitors that actually have a bit higher latency ratings as the fanciest LCD flavor of the day, but the typical curve is far flatter, so the rating they give you will actually be a pretty good representation of the performance you will get over a wide range of transitions.

I think that these days, LCDs are more than suitable enough for the type of thing they will have to display - that is HD broadcasts and next gen games, as well as old standard def material - considering the 30fps thing will still be there. If games were to run fast, at least 60fps, then i guess usual LCD ghosting could be seen, but then again, i've been used to my old LCD screen which must have a response time of 1minute, so THANK GOD my eyes will see pure bliss whatever i buy this xmas!!!
You know, some times ignorance is bliss!! My eyes are "trained" to see most flaws in games - and i kinda hate myself for that - but when it comes to LCDs, i've used such an old piece of crap for the last 3 years that anything i'll buy this xmas will look just perfect :D

Then again i might win the lottery and buy this http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20050907PR210.html
