I was just on my local food store, and as usual, its some gadget from a cheap brand for sale.

What was for sale now, was a DVD player, who was adverticed as a HIGH DEFINITION DVD player.

I looked on the specs, and, it was simply a plain dvd player, outputing 720 i/p 1080 i/p, and featuring a "32bits risc processor", and other stuff to make it work.

To make a demonstration, they had a TV made in 1960 or so beside, oldest TV ive ever seen, too bad the tech guy wasnt there today, so nothing was turned on. It had a huge LCD tv using component cables to show HD images on, using component cables.

An upscaling DVD player. There's loads of them around now. Almost every new SD DVD player with a HDMI port (and a few before that) has some upscaling capability.
