Hardrives for swap files

JVD. If it's just for running one app. with memory leaks, there's really no point in having lots of swap space. On windows the largest your app. memory space can grow to is 3GB, so I'd say your better off using the $$ for RAM instead of a dedicated HD.

A couple of Seymour Cray quotes:
1.) Virtual memory leads to virtual performance"
2.) "Memory is like sex, it's better when it's real"

Well the game has memory leaks (although most have been fixed in the last patch before beta goes down)

But its also to speed up loading of zones for eq2 , half life 2 (i'm assuming ) and farcry .

I already have 2 gigs of ram. I don't think i need more than that right now .

I think the hardrive will help more and was wondering what you all think

OKay guys I'm wondering what size and speed should i get for a hardrive thats just going to be used for a swap file. I figure 10 gigs is more than enough . But what speed and how much cache ?

Hate to divert you away from this site, but www.storagereview.com is the Beyond3D of hard drives... these guys are nerds, but they're our kind of nerds :)
