Hands on pgr3

I'm not sure. Could have bene 1999. That was awhile ago . I don't even remember when the gamecube came out .

edit no it was march 2nd or 4th

Anyway they fixed many problems with many of the launch games before state side release and europe releases

Ign on japanese ridge racer v
Ridge Racer V was obviously rushed out the door to make the launch, and a few rough edges remain. There are several instances where someone forgot to add filtering to the cars - the vehicle select screens feature the same block-o-rama pixilated textures as those old PS1 games. The Versus Mode is decent, if you enjoy a thick layer of Turok fog obstructing the track. Come on, guys - this is the PlayStation 2. We shouldn't have to resort to N64-style visual cop-outs on this box.

Tekken tag jap vs usa version

This absence in the Japanese version caused a big uproar in the gaming community. It's amazing how the lack of a little texture blurring can whip people into such a frenzy.

There's no need for further worry, though, as the developers have apparently solved the problem. The North American Tekken Tag fixes the jaggies, resulting in super-smooth edges reminiscent of Namco's legendary Soul Calibur. Anti-aliasing junkies rejoice.

Another difference the US version has over the Japanese versionis the toned-down carousel effect (the foreground moving independently of the background, creating a weird, rotating visual).

So as you can see from march to october allowed them to make it look alot better

So...

How about that PGR3 on that dev kit. Sounds like they have got a lot done and have a lot more to do...

Thanks Bocman Smile It's great to hear, and to know you can see through the development issues to the real heart of the game!

And the reason why that build was shown was twofold - firstly, it was one of the few spare kits we have (they're like gold dust here!) and secondly, because the newer build, even though it's running fast and looking better than the older builds, is only just up and running on the new kits. This means it's pretty unstable, with plenty of crashes, strange bugs and other issues to fix.

For presentation purposes, it was safer for us to show a slower build that was more stable than a newer one on the new kits that might crash due to some unforseen problem with the porting process. We're at that horrible time in development where everything is being pulled together, meaning that there's a lot of instability around - fixing one thing seems to just break another!

But the nearer we get to completion, the better it gets... Smile

yup from what they are saying its an older beta kit . Wouldn't be suprised if these are the ones with the non final xenos and the slower ram
Couple that with the fact that beta kits are only around a month to a month old and there u go.
