Before I bought one I checked that out. One of the community reps said they didn't see a problem with it as the mouse/kb couldn't input variables different than what the gamepad allowed. I linked it here in the past. If Bungie had said they were banning for it I would have never purchased one. I am not sure what other answer they could have (it is true) but also because the device is undetectable. The interesting thing is MS has licensed not only wheels, yokes and sticks, and arcade sticks but also game pads with Turbo buttons. MS has sanctioned a lot of input devices that allow different mechanical devices to provide the same game input data.
I remember the link. I've no problem with your using that tbh, as long as you're on my team.
On another note, I've been looking into hooking the Xbox up to my monitor since my Samsung LCD is useless for gaming (input lag). Instead of dropping $40 for the VGA adapter, I picked up an HDMI -> DVI adapter from Monoprice for $3.75 shipping included. Woe is me.
Obviously my monitor won't accept sound over DVI, and I didn't realize the regular AV cable thing won't fit on the Xbox when there's an HDMI cable plugged into it. So I can get picture (the Xbox will even default to 1440x900) but not sound.
Now I have to bring my monitor into the living room and run the Xbox through the receiver to get sound, every time I want to play Halo. Huge PITA.
$40 for the VGA cable is still too much. I'd rather put that toward a new monitor with HDMI.
