Halo: Reach

Waiting for the challenge "Teabag 20 enemies in 1 match"

:p

Not particularly liking this week's challenge (30 kills in a single MP match, 2000cR). Oh well, I suppose MP is where most folks hang out compared to the cooperative modes.

I would prefer it if they had 2 sets of challenges, one for competitive matchmaking and another for firefight/campaign.

Anyone else think the challenge over the weekend (don't remember if it was Sat or yesterday) was bugged? I believe it was called "pass the torch" which required you to get 20 assists, which is fine, but every time I would die, I would get the pop up that I failed the challenge. This leads me to think that as it was set up, you were expected to get all 20 assists without being killed......fat F****n chance that would ever happen.

Also I don't mind elite slayer every blue moon as it's a nice change of pace compared to the spartans. I'm also a big fan of invasion slayer, nothing like a good spartan vs elite battle :D

especially since the magnum has been downgraded significantly since the beta (stupid decision IMO).

You have a link detailing how it was downgraded? The damage is exactly the same as the DMR, just like it was in the beta. I do great with the pistol, was just talking last night how much I love it. Could use a slightly larger clip though.

The "Pass the Rock" challenge was glitched/bugged. It only counted assists before your first death in each game. It would count assists between games, but only before your death. The bungie.net forums were filled with complaints about it.

It's also been noted that the Weekly Challenge, "Like Mike" is also glitched. The bungie.net forums has plenty of folks reporting games where they have had over 30+ kills but have not received the weekly challenge. Glitched challenges indeed.

Way to go Bungie!

They just don't want us hitting the 117M unlocked challenges. :p Maybe I'll hit Brigadier by the time the cap lifts afterall.

They should do double commendation bonus. Damn idlers. And sigh @ campaign credits. I was hoping for more challenges related to those as I get about 100 cR for game complete (since most of the commendations I have are silver+ ).

Yep. I like the current pistol more than the beta version. Probably due to that accuracy bug Bungie talked about. I too wish it had just a few more shots per clip, or at least one more clip. But as it is, the pistol very serviceable.

You liked ONI swordbase and Nightfall on Legendary without dying this weekend? The matches (co-op matchmaking) lasted entirely too long as people wouldn't move forward to progress the level. :)

Took me about an hour solo for swordbase, and about 10 min for Nightfall. I just don't care for "complete in a single match" type of req.

You want credites, play Invasion. For some reason I was getting 2000+ cR per match on Monday. That's without any boosts from commendations or challenges. They'll probably nerf it with Tuesday's update though.
Didn't I already mention I dislike competitive MP? More often than not, I get pitted against a dream team that can take the objectives within a minute. So no, that's not the way I'm going to get credits. I'm well aware of what works for me.

about the pistol
wider bloom and slower rate of fire
it's still a hand-cannon though

The key is to play with friends who are decent. You don't all have to be Halo gods to win objective games, just need to work together. My friends and I routinely win matches against more skilled players where our K/D as a team is hugely negative, because we coordinate and focus on accomplishing objectives.

Could have just did what I did, play a co-op game with friends and take turns having a point man/decoy clear the way for you to finish the level without being killed.

We did that too. Took about 22 min for Nightfall Co-Op because of the additional Elites and Shay Turrets co-op brings into the mix that simply aren't there in Solo.

Glad you found something that works though since Bungie preached that you'd be rewarded based on whatever you like doing in the game... besides challenge boosting of course. :)
Why do you care how someone else chooses to play the game?

pft... anyways :p

Sort of liking the changes to Firefight, though there needs to be an option for 1 round or 3 rounds (+bonus). 30min is quite awhile to commit. Glacier seems all sorts of fun with rockets. Hopefully they do something about idlers as playing 30 min with their extra lag is going to suck.

Bonus Round randomly chooses between Hunterpocalypse or Elitepocalypse or Gruntpocalypse. Just a bit too nuts to even get more than a few kills for the first two types.

You can really pass Nightfall on Legendary in 5 minutes? HTF?

Roughly that. At minimum you end up killing only 8 guys - three at the start and five at the bridge before the gate where Power House is located. Just sprint all the way. You can skip the first area of enemies just by hugging the walkway on the right side. In the next section, you head straight to the building with the stairs leading to the grunt on the plasma turret - you'll almost always get grunts and elites firing at you, but you're pretty safe once you get inside the building as they all tend to switch focus on Jun. After that you sprint towards the area with the big creatures. Trying to save the rebel scum is a waste of time, so you just stick left and leave the area. Lastly, you just have to sneak up and kill the elite and grunts. Assassinations tend to wake them up, so I'd just do a simple melee.

At the gate you maneuver forky alongside it, and line it up so that your character hops out between the two doors (the player always hops out of the left side). Takes a bit of practise, but you usually get a checkpoint right after killing the sleeping grunts + unsuspecting elite. Once you're through the gate, the enemies are not triggered, and you're home free.

It doesn't seem to work on co-op though.
