    First impressions:
    Photo mode is awesome
    GT4 makes GT3 look ugly
The music is less bad (classical! Is that a GT first?)
    Used cars! Yay!
    Blah blah blah

I haven't bought the game yet, but my brother got a copy. I can wait until it's a greatest hits title and pick it up for $20. (Since I can play his copy...)

My only complaint so far is the lack of online play. The game is clearly awesome; it's a shame we won't have online GT for some time. On the bright side, it looks like GT4 is a mammoth game.

    From MagicBox:

"SCEE announced that they have shipped 3.2 million copies of Gran Turismo 4 for PlayStation 2 before the game's launch today in Europe, making this the biggest launch of any PS2 game in Europe."

Yep, Europe has always been VERY keen of racing games, and GT is extremely successful in here.

That quote is a bit confusing. That 3.2 million copies shipped is for Europe? How many have they sold worldwide (except Europe) till now?

1M at least only in Japan, not sure about the US. Europe will sell that many GT4's and more.

In Gran Turismo 4's launch in the US (it came out at the end of the month), it sold a little over 600,000 units.

Why does the GT4 save game take up 1.4 Megs of space??
I don't see why should it be so much bigger than GT3 save game.

I'm sure it's just so that Sony could sell more memorycards, I wonder how many had to buy a new one just to be able to fit the GT4 save.

Same with MGS3. The game save itself isn't that big (80KB ?), but the downloadable camos are ridicullously big for what they are, 800 KB for a simple tiled texture that shouldn't take up more than some tens of KB

Anyone noticed this nice little detail? When you drive at high speed, you hear the rushing sound of air right, but if you suddenly pull to the side, right in the back of another car, in the "slip-stream-pocket", the sound of rushing air dissapears and it becomes totally still... I love PD's love for tiny details! :D
