That lady is wearing a shiny/glittery top so it's supposed to shine.

 Ah man thats funny. I know you didn't mean that.

Actually I did. You must be blind and foolish. Just look at what she's wearing. ;)

You apparently picked the wrong game to prove your point. ;)

I can't believe that. You actually think that the clothes in this game look good? You think that her shirt is suppose to look like that? Everyone knows that the shiny look that this game has so far is wrong and doesn't look good.

Just check Alstrong and Shifty's comments they seem to notice the shiny shine. Its one thing if you like this look, but its another if you think that the shiny look is correct as far as realism goes.

The lady's pink top suffers from the same bad shine that the guy's suit suffers from. On the first pic you can notice a few people who are shining up. Its just wrong and you know it. I've seen you correctly critize games where a car has incorrect lighting. Why can't you notice it now?

Actually, the hooker's top is silver... it's one of those shiny fabrics. :)

In contrast to the characters that have shiny material, most of the other characters do not... look at the fat man and the people on the right in the first pic.

I don't think anyone can, with a straight face, say that Frame City Killer is an excellent example of high quality graphics. I don't really know how to explain what is wrong with FCK, but there is plenty wrong with it graphically. There is definately something 'funky' with that game. Did they forget to use all the advances in shaders/texturing we've attained in the last 5 years? It looks like DX8 style with a decent poly count. Of course it is a bit hard to see the fine details in those relatively tiny shots...

Engine be damned, these guys made an unimpressive looking game (gameplay might be a blast, but the graphics sure aren't).

yes ,there's also something strange in the video, the self shadowing has 'z-fight syndrom' .Maybe it's an unreal 2.5 demo they made before switching to 3.0.

Exactly. Also that guy standing right under that light pole seems to be wearing a shiny leather jacket that's why you see the shine on his sleeve and shoulder.

Hey PC I'll give you the hooker, but by NO means can I agree with the guy in the suit. Its a suit. Not to many leather business suits out there. Just give it up the game's graphics are just bad. Everyone knows it.

Sometimes I think you disagree with me just because I'm saying it. Why aren't you replying to what others are saying. If this game keeps going the same way it will suck when its released. The graphics are just too shiny and you know it. :)

Don't make excuses. That looks terribly fake.

Frame city killers looks like crap. But, I don't agree at all about GOW looking plasticy.

I think the trees in GOW are amazing, it's a fantasy game after all, so why should they look like trees I've seen? The bark could maybe be a little better, but the foliage is awesome.

Sometimes I think you make bad calls kinda like right now. If you've never seen shiny black suits then you've been living under a rock. ;)

Anybody wanna back me up here?

I'd rather not go through the trouble of posting screenshots of sport coats from fashion websites.

That suit looks more like plasticine than any suit I've ever seen. Fabrics don't look specular in that way. But as I say, I think it's just a basic, simple shader for test purposes and maybe later they'll add some more complex maths to define the specular highlighting more fabric-like?

Then you've not seen enough suits. ;)

My dad has a few old suits that have a moderate shine to them, kinda like silk ties. ;)

In fact silk, satin, and polyester all have a sheen to the fabric.

Which responds very differently to light than plasticine. Just because suits can have a sheen, doesn't mean applying any level of sheen makes it right. You have to get the properties right or it looks out of place.

If this is the cast (it may be the case) then the dev is stupid to put out screenshots so early. It will only hurt the game.

Scooby thats 99% exactly how I feel. The other 1% is I would throw in with the bark the leaves at the bottom could be a little better. But thats what I was saying earlier. Sci-fi games like GOW don't need to be super realistic.

I'll just say that the world can be bigger than the end of your own eye sight. ;)

It's pretty clear that they can have non-shiny material, but they chose it for the man's suit. Let's just leave it at that!

Anyways, the game is still a work in progress. Things can change. Is there an expected release date for FCK?
