Formula 1 - The Eco Friendly Motorsport!

I believe the Americans call golf bunkers sandtraps, which is highly relevant in F1 it now seems. That seemed to be the smallest bunker on the course to get your ball(s) stuck in as well.

McLaren should not have kept him out that long, when you see a white strip on the tyre and it is not a super soft everyone should know it is about to blow or at least cause terrible problems, look like the team made a calculated risk and Hamilton's slip did them in.

He's still in position A for the last race though. I bet any other driver would swap for that position. I can see him getting 2nd on the grid behind Massa and then coming home 2nd also.

Hamilton is going to have insane amounts of pressure going into the last race despite what he or anyone else might say. Alonso now has a real chance to get the title and if something happens to Hamilton Kimi has a chance also. In any case the last race just became super interesting.

Hamilton clearly is still in the best position, but when things are decided in a single race, absolutely anything can happen.

Hamilton was driving for the first place in that race for all cost when 3rd or 4th would have been an excellent place for him. He definately should have pitted earlier. Now in the last race I would like to see Kimi 1st Massa 2nd, Alonso third and hehe more problems for Hamilton, I believe that would create a nice looking figure in the championship points board.

Yep, certainly Bernie will be rubbing his hands in glee :D For once MotoGp has taken a back seat on excitement this year in comparison to F1

Honestly, Mclaren should have known better. This is one step up from running out of fuel. Losing a little advantage by coming in early is far, far better than crashing out of the race. Especially amateurish when the world title is there for the taking, and finishing in the top six would have done the job.

It isnt mclarens fault, its hamilton that took a to big of a risks trying to get to the pit as fast as possible while he knew his tires were gone. You could argue that mclaren should had him come in faster but in the end it was just a stupid mistake by hamilton.

But what pressure was Hamilton on? Alonso was far way off him at that time if i remember correctly (about 6-8seconds behind) and he still could have improved to seal the title.

Incredible race, I got my wish and it rained (sporadicly). Hamilton's tyres were incredibly worn and it was unreal seeing him beaching at the pit entrance.

Interlagos will be the decider as I hoped; excellent!

Go Alonso!

I think Alonso's inferences over the past couple of weekends that they are impeding him in some way have really just shut him out of the team now, and frankly its not really surprising. If you are insular, slagging your bosses off [yes, he is an employee] and kicking the teams hospitality in when things are not going your way you really can't think you are going to get any respect in the team.

At this point its clear that the relationship is entirely disfunctional - evidently Alonso didn't even know what his fuel strategy was. It wouldn't surprise me if the only reason they are running him still is because the FIA said they were watching the treatment of him.

How do you know that Alonso started the hostility?
I never liked him, but seeing how Hamitlon is treated, I'd rather believe Alonso's version, than RD's

A spanish pilot vs english pilot in english team.
Hamilton may be a hero in England, but outside he is "Mr Do-Not-Overtake-Me-or-you'll-get-your-ass-kicked" , "Mr bring the crane" or "Whatever I do, its others fault" :p
Even if he wins, he'll have to prove himself in next years, before getting his reputation cleared.

Oh my, ye, it's of course spanish again, but still, according AS, Alonso was wondering how his speed slowed down so much in the last qualifying session, and blamed McLaren for supporting Hamilton over him.
According to AS, as a result of this, FIA got all the information on Alonsos car's tyre pressures during qualification, and in the last session, they were 1.5 bar instead of the usual 0.2 bars. Again according to AS, Alonso had similar "problems" with his rear tyres in Japan GP's qualifications.
FIA has ensured that they will make sure McLaren will treat both drivers the same in the last GP, reports the AS

edit: 0.2 was a typo by MTV3 apparently, real value being probably 1.2 or something similar

I think that Ron would be fair to both drivers, at least in mechanical package offered if not in silent prayers!

If it had been Alonso whose tyres had gone imagine what he would have said, yet it was obviously just an error of judgement by the team and hamilton.

To be honest McLaren get into the trouble quite a lot of the time because of this sort of equality when they have two competitive drivers, Prost and Senna being the classic of course. I seem to recall then that there were hints that the non-latin was favoured also, but I may be wrong in that.

I think Ron will stick them out equally and hope that it is Hamilton who wins and if Alonso wins then will think " Bloody hell, that sums the year up, better put a brave face on"

If Alonso does win he is going to have a terible time having to look happy, it's almost worth Alonso winning to see how well Ron manages to pull it off...

Did you see that photo of Max Mosely and Ron shaking hands after spygate, max was all smiles and Ron's face was a classic ...

source? Its hard to believe Mclaren will do such an obvious thing.

No one in Spain was interested in F1 until Alonso. Now they've had a world champion for a couple of years there is a big following, and it's unsurprising their nationalistic sporting press is pointing fingers at everyone except their hero as to why he is being upstaged by Hamilton.

I suspect that McLaren is doing a better job of supporting Alonso that Alonso is doing of supporting McLaren. If Alonso is having problems dealing with McLaren, a lot of that is of his own making.

Personally, I think out of everything that's happened this year, the reputation that has dropped the furthest is Alonso's.

Well I agree but lets be honest, Lewis is Ron's baby. Even if Alonso was the most nicest en obidiant guy in the world Ron would favour Lewis no matter what.
