Formula 1 - The Eco Friendly Motorsport!

Not only no punishment for Hamilton, but Vettel has had his 10 place penalty for China removed.

Sebastian Vettel's 10-place grid penalty for colliding with Mark Webber during the same caution has also been annulled.
A statement from the stewards said that punishments would be inappropriate given the extremely wet conditions at Fuji.

This is a bit weird though. How are they going to replay Kubica for his drive-through penalty after bumping Hamilton into a spin now that "punishments would be inappropriate given the extremely wet conditions"?

Formula 1 - the only motorsport run by chimpanzees it seems..

Its nice to know that, even after being chucked out of the manufacturers championship so there is no more financial gain to McLaren, and the evidently poor relationship Ron Dennis has with Alonso, he's still very agitated when Alonso was hit:

http://www.autosport.com/journal/article.php/id/1278

Both drivers survived, but within a few laps Alonso's race was over after a heavy impact with the wall. He didn't use the earlier contact as an excuse, but it seems that he would have been justified in so doing. Dennis was so frustrated that he couldn't even get the name of Fernando's assailant right.

"I think Veltins" - honest, he said it twice! - "made several mistakes in this race, and that was one of them. Once the car had been damaged it was very difficult for him to drive and keep the pace. He did a good job for a while, and then it got away from him when the water got a bit heavier. But he did a good job."

Terrible pun time coming up..

Hamilton is definitely in the driving seat now after that performance in qualifying. Weather looks like it could throw a spanner in the works though.

Did really B.E. said that for Guardian? : i'm retranslating
"Hamilton is a "freash air" for F1. I've been for long , but never had seen anything like that. Its a miracle. We lost a bright star like Schumacher, but fortunately, another star is rising, now I can't imagine a F1 championship without Hamilton. Alonso had won twice, but he did nothing for F1, Kimi also did very little for the sport, but Luis is the champion we need."

He is only hurting his own reputation by whining like that. I don't think it will achieve anything positive for him in the immediate future. I thought it was quite funny he was giving advice to Ron to be silent on matters when he is being so vocal himself.

But then... champions usually don't like to lose gracefully.

Well what exactly did Hamilton do for F1 besides bringing in alot of sponsor cash?

He's likely already expanded the demographic and increased the viewership through the sucess that he's had in his first season. When you have people like Tiger Woods talking about him then you are bringing attention to F1 from areas outside of F1 circles, which is only a good thing for the sport.

Besides, Bernie is also talking about what he hopes he will do in the future.

Anyway, on another topic - Poor Vettel is on a rollercoster these last two weeks. After having his 10 place penalty overturned on Friday, he's now been handed a 5 place penalty for impeding somone in qualifying!

I know alonso has been critisized in the past for not doing much for the sport he replied "I fulfil all my sponsor obligations what more can I do" (he doesnt seem to get it)

i do know hamilton sponsors a prize in some lower division awarded to the driver that does the most overtaking

I'd be very surprised if Hamilton doesn't have a light car compared to Kimi. Interesting race coming up that's for sure with possible rain coming up again. I just hope that we'll never see a start behind a safety car ever again.

Hamilton really stuck the knife into Alonso with that qualifying. Not just better than Alonso, better than the Ferraris that are better than Alonso.

Alonso comes across as pretty whiny and sulky, especially considering all the screw-ups he's made this year, both on the track and politically. It's looking like the best driver out there is Hamilton, and he's consistently out-performing Alonso in the same car.

"I'm ready to do the best I can, to help the team, to have a good car and try to win races. But they ... things like what they say or do, or days like at Spa, or all the lies that they leak to the press, both British and German, to go against me. That, inside my own team...They have to do something to improve the situation."
Probably better for both Alosnso and Mclaren if they go their separate ways at the end of the season. They are not doing each other's reputation any good at all.

I hope there will be rain tomorrow as that always shakes things up. I hope Lewis won't be able to clinch the title tomorrow because I want this great championship to be undecided before Interlagos.

It is painfully obvious to me that the right guy to be world champion is Lewis. In fact, my main fear would be if he didn’t win it.
LOL ... They've changed the rules to stop MS and Ferrari dominance recent years [ like changing point system etc. ] ... Now , look whats going on ...
