in true, i have doubts whether this is prerender or real time, ubi likes to use in-game assets in lightwave and such (or is EA?)

Didn't most people here think that the MOH:Airborne sample video was real-time? If so doesn't it compare (i.e. look in the neighborhood as good) to the shot above from Ubisoft?

78X AA or not that video looked basically the same (character model wise) as this screen agreed?

Oh, certainly, I believe it will look similar...apart from image quality.

It may have been cropped from a 1280x720 image, though..the right bit may have been cut off. No idea why they'd do that though.

It could be a press screenshot, which was cropped for magazine use...and the original is nowhere to be found. :p

To me it looks very much what I think better than average looking next gen games will look.
What is there that's not doable on xbox360 or PS3? The AA might be one but other than that, I see nothing that I think would be beyond the capabilities of next gen machines.
Of course, this particular shot is not directly from game, but a "posed" shot that's using ingame assets, the foreground head is probably even photoshopped afterwards to the image.
It's just too much hassle to get a good shot with exciting composition from ingame material, or even from ingame cinematics. I think it's much easier to render and collate one specifically for PR purposes.
 
Not that it means anything but you can clearly see jaggies on the upper windows and surrounding the doorway.

And why are people doubting the power of these consoles? I'm seeing the next step of what we currently have. Am I wrong to believe PS3 and 360 games will look this good now and in the future better than this?

no I think both systems will indeed look this good or even better at home on HD.

(and BIA is expected for both PS3 and X360 I believe)
