Finally the right LCD arrive?

16.2 million colors is bad as it would mean it was an 18-bit monitor. But that would make this monitor the only >17" desktop LCD to be 18-bit, so it's probably a misprint.

16.7 million colors is true 24bit. 16.2 million suggest that there is only 64 colors per channel and that it's dithered up to 253 colors per channel. 253^3=16.2 million.

Edit: Anyway, you left out the most important bit; the resolution is only 1280x1024. That sucks...

He mentions nice blackness, but what is it?

The new Apple 20" has pretty impressive 400:1 contrast and 250 cd/m2 brightness.

The contrast is not necessarily always an accurate measure of blackness. I know shoot me or something, but due to how different companies do their "testing" I think you pretty much need to go see them to see if they are to your liking.

The brightness and contrast values are ISO "something" numbers so they should be somehow truthful. I have a IBM L170 with 250 cd/m2 350:1 and the black leves are pretty crappy IMO. Guess we'll have to wait for OLED's :/
