Fight Night 3 on E3 is a PS3 demo.
This new pics is a XBOX 360 demo.
Simple like that.

The 2nd part wasn't aimed at you. Sorry i didn't pointed that out. I agree the animations are worse, but that's simply because the animations at e3 were scripted, here they are gameplay. So it's just something that is still being worked on since the game still has a long way.

But aside from animations, i really don't think it looks worse at all.

Oh okay...
Anyways I watched the E3 video few times 640x480 res and compared it to this, and I still think it looks better, the effects of the Matrix punch looks more realistic to me on face, facial expressions look more real, and even the character models appear more lifelike, not just because of the animation. Ofcourse that's just my opinion, but after seeing the E3 video I expected more than this.

well they look like screen captures from the video, they probably put them there cause the ps3 version will end up looking the same

Dunno. I only raised it because Titanio said they were XB360 shots. I'd like to know where he got that info to think as much. To me the bottom five look like grabs from from a screen and the top 3 look like direct feeds, but I couldn't hazard a guess as to which platform from looking at them. Plus why mark them as PS3 if the game is for both platforms, especially if they're XB360 shots?! :???:

They say it. 1up says in the link to the page (Main page at 1up), says Fight Night Xbox360/Ps3.

This looks very good. With a little bit more "excessive" animation it could look spooky real. It has some fluid moments, but you get those little stale interruptions between. This is something I think will be a major problem in this and the next generation of games. It's one thing to have photorealistic looking graphics in still frames, but to make them move convincingly is a different matter. Because your eyes are seeing what looks somewhat real, it will also expect it to move in a realistic manner, not like Mario Bros. ;)

PS. I think this is a very interesting subject, about how your brain completely forgives certain things when it knows it is moving into an alternate reality, but as soon as you're simulating reality it becomes extremely picky. For example, if you witnessed an apple falling from its tree and pausing mid-air for a split second, you'd probably spend the rest of your life wondering about that, thinking something impossible happened or that you are going insane. In either case, you'd not be likely to forget it.

does anybody else think that the e3 version looks better than this? i know im probbaly being mistaken for different lighting and motion blur but i cant help but look at the e3 version and say it looks alot better.

these posts over at psin compares the shots a bit.

its not just the skin tones that seem better to me, it also seems to have more detail and better animation.
regardless of being on ps3 or xbox360 one obviously looks better to me, makes me wonder if their render target was too high? or if EA would actually make two different versions?

IIRC the E3 version was void of any real background geometry and animation. This one has people standing around, waving their arms, shadow boxing, making it look more alive. In comparison, the E3 version looks more like a laboratory environment. But, yes, the graphics of the boxers and the animation is different. Perhaps reality set in?

The demo of Fight Night on PS3 EA showed on Sony's conference wasn't a render. It was running in realtime on an early PS3 devkit Sony had there. I believe this devkit had a 2,4 Ghz cell processor and a overclocked GF 7800 GTX (500 Mhz) and only 5 GB/s bandwidth between CPU-GPU. So what we saw in the demo is certainly possible on the final PS3 unless you believe the final kit is weaker than that early devkit.

yeah i know it was realtime, i remember the presentation. im just saying maybe their target was too high for the boxers but when they figured to input some enviroment and spectators into the scene maybe they figured they need to scale down the boxers a bit?

i would definately beleive the e3 presentation is totally possible on the ps3, it just makes me wonder if EA would scale down the ps3 version for the 360 (if really needed), or would they create two different versions of the game. (which they obviously dont too much)

The new trailer up is of the x360 version. It was the same trailer played at the zero hour x360 party this week.

EA are using Renderware for the PS3 version and I think it's safe to say the same goes for the xbox 360-version. To my knowledge the Renderware middleware solution is tailored to capitalize one each consol's strengths so it's not like EA are creating two completeley different versions from scratch.

these are captures from the new FN3 video that was on MTV, you can view it on their website, they show the developers playing it with X360 controllers, it was also shown on G4TV the night of the launch as an X360 game.

It looks the same as E3 to me, just lower res.

If anyone, expect differences between X360 and PS3 version in EA games, they're setting themselves up for a dissapointement, I say.

All what EA want is to have a SKU for each and every machine available, nothing else.

I believe the trailer is the Xbox 360 version, simply because the animation is nowhere near as fluid as the PS3 E3 trailer, and jerky animation is turning out to be an Xbox 360 trait, particularly in EA games.

I believe the trailer is the Xbox 360 version...

...Because you believe PS3 is so much more powerful and will automatically make games look so much better than xbox 360?

Anyone notice its the same people over and over making the same statements like this? jerky animations is a trait of the developer, not the console. This game will look exactly the same on the PS3. It's not hard to understand if you use your head.

You're simply imagining the animation was smoother. It was motion capture then, and it's motion capture now. besides you really didn't get to see any of the real fighting animations in the E3 trailer. it was all close up of the boxers facial expressions and a few punches from a camera angle you can't play from.

Both games in their finality will probably look very similar (this is EA afterall) but purely comparing the E3 video to this new video one of them is definitely and clearly better looking overall.

If you haven't seen both videos side by side then do so because the opinions expressed in this thread have simply fallen to the all too useless and predictable:

XBOX360 fan: They look the same
PS3 fan: PS3 version looks a million times better

I see this in every thread similar to this - it's so transparent that I can look at the posters' name and know straight away what his "opinion" on the footage will be.

I don't actually remember saying that it looked any better or worse. I simply made a comment about the jerky animations, and they are jerky, and I've seen plenty of jerky animations in the Xbox 360 so far. And no, the Fight Night PS3 trailer did not have jerky animations like this trailer did.

You don't see it, I don't care. I stick by my comment.
