Fight Night 3 Trailer

I beleive thats the xbox360 version. MTV had a "exclusive" look at fightnight round 3 on their "overdrive" showing and they showed this same trailer after showing the xbox360 playing fight night. but yeah, its EA, so both the ps3 and 360 versions will look pretty much the same.

if you can still find the fight night stuff on the overdrive mtv thing, i suggest you go check it out. its pretty cool. they show how easy it is to get a character into the game by mapping their face.

while looking amazing in that trailer, it kinda feels like they cut back on texture details since the e3 presentation. maybe thats just the motion blur giving me that impression?

That's the 360 version? Wow. Actually i don't think they have cut back on texture detail at all, it just seems like the lightning is overdone for a Dramatic effect and that makes the texture details less noticeable. I really don't see differences...besides the lightning pallette.

I wish they add more depth to character attributes like speed, chin, heart, power, defense, foot, awareness, etc. And how each character has his pro and cons like maybe this guy is weak against a southpaw, or has weak defense against body shots. And of course, animation and stance that accommodate each character (Mayweathers defense, for example). And of course, more characters (including contenders and prospect).

But any words on the release date?

IMHO, from what I rememeber of the E3 presentation, this does not look as good. The lighting/HDR is different, and it just seems a bit muddier or something. The animations in the vid seem quite stilted also, I'd at least hope that they fix that.

This isn't as different as people are trying tomake it out to be. The E3 demo is just that , a DEMO, and not necessarily what the final game will look like.

1. The lighting has been changed to be more realistic based on ligth sources in teh environment. Instead of the infinately bright eventment and characters.

2. The "matrix" punch is still in this video and looks the same.

3. The animations here look the same to me. the only difference is there are more of them. PS3 will use the same motion capture and animation system so I wouldn't expect it to look any different.

4. They added fluids that come form the matrix punch

5. They added motion blur to the arms when they punch. motion blur also happens when they make quick movements. again making it look more realistic.

Again as suual I think there's some people that expect the PS3 version to looks different, but honestly I think that's funny.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here. But the HDR seems more "bloomy" here, and the coloring is totally different. I wouldn't consider it "more realistic", just muddier, and more muted. I don't know if this is a stylistic choice, or a technical choice, or a mix of both, but I'd much prefer the approach of the E3 demo.

The blood is new, but the "spray" isn't.

There is certainly new environmental detail since the E3 presentation, no one is debating that - you'd expect that 6 months on.

I just think there'll be several arenas. The one presented at e3 may be in the retail game.

I think i was fairly clear in what I was saying about the lighting. In this video it's clear they attemtped to light the scene more realisitically based on where the actual light was cast from. Just look at the ceiling while they fight. You'll see a sky light and also flourescent lighting. The sky light is the main light source and casts the majority of the light in the scene. In the demo from E3, the light looked like it was coming from every where at the same time. Making it look overbright, almost like everything had a maximimum ambient light level. It was brighter, yes, but not realisitc. You'd be hard pressed to find any shadows in the original demo. there was a few, but it was way too bright to be realistic. There should always be lots of shadows cast.

Well you can prefer the E3 demo. Nothing wrong with that, but I don't think the old demo is technically better. The game will look the same on both platforms and the demo from E3 is not representitive of a final game (as always). The original demo had bloom lighting in it as well titanio.

The blood is new, but the "spray" isn't.

I wasn't talking about the spray, obviously I was talking about the blood or it could have been some nasty spit i guess.

Agreed that the PS3 version will probably look the same, but the footage shown at E3 was miles ahead of this video, the difference is so big it's not even funny.

That video seems to be a little off from the E3 PS3 videos. Perhaps they toned some details a smudge down due to lighting, AI, etc.?

? You must be crazy, i recommend you to go check the video again. Acrually textures on the bodys of the fighters are worse in the e3 video.

Jesus, what people come up with lol HEy sure....totally blows it away, it's one gen apart, Ps3 FTW!!!

Know what would be funny? If this was actually Ps3 footage, i can already see people go "Well now that i compare the two videos directly, they are pretty much the same, it's just the lightning that has changed, for artistic reasons" lol

I don't think it has anything to do with console power, but with EA's skills in the next-gen arena. EA's X360 software hasn't been overwhelmingly impressive, but it's not an indicator of the X360's capabilities.

You must have some sort of reading problem, because I said it will probably look the same on PS3, did you happen to miss that part!.

The animation is much more fluid in the E3 video, and it looks better too.

The 2nd part wasn't aimed at you. Sorry i didn't pointed that out. I agree the animations are worse, but that's simply because the animations at e3 were scripted, here they are gameplay. So it's just something that is still being worked on since the game still has a long way.

But aside from animations, i really don't think it looks worse at all.
