Feasibility of a 1000W console

it's all about how they designed the Xbox. AMD also can't beat nVidia at efficiency, in fact they can't beat Intel either efficiency wise in the dGPU department, but when it comes to APUs their iGPUs are tremendously good at efficiency and power.

AMD Strix Halo and its super GPU. Vs the 4070.
How do these relate to the topic of a 1000W console?

the point is that 1000W isn't going to be a great advantage these days, because of diminishing returns and traditional raster needs to change unless people can afford a transformer the size of their room at home or live in an area near a nuclear power plant. :)

i.e. the RTX 5090 consumes 30% more power than the RTX 4090 and it outperforms the 4090 by about 20-30%.

That's a 600W GPU. If you add another 30% power consumption on a future RTX 6090, so 800W..., you might get another 30% more performance than the 5090,, not much. The days of 50-60+% more performance than the previous generation equivalent GPU seem to be gone.

I can’t speak for everyone. But most of our fuses in Canada at least are between 10-15AMP, 20 and 30- 40 for joint circuits. Really depends on the age of the building. They stopped with 10 amp fuses a while ago.

But a console pulling 10amps itself is a big deal. Nearly a dedicated socket for it.
back in 2017 I've built several rigs for some people featuring VEGA GPUs and some nVidia GPUS with 1600W PSUs feeding up to 8 GPUs, when the Monero, Ethereum, etc mining craze started and while nothing happened, there were times when one of those circuit breakers dropped.

I also remember that at one home, the socket suddenly stopped to work.

It's true that the wiring and so on was quite old, but a continued use for hours and hours can heat up the sockets and melt their plastic cover, if not worse.... (i.e. for those who continuously use electrical heating)
