Can't other developers learn from Carmack and use 60 fps while still having nice visuals? iD Tech 5 framerate.

Wolfenstein looks fantastic. ....if you don't get close to anything. But that's the limitation of the engine and storage/memory etc. It has some fantastic artwork and design.Well, the Id tech5 games targeting 60fps aren't particularly impressive looking now, aren't they? Wolfenstein certainly isn't much of a looker. And judging by The Evil Within's performance profile, you have to pay a huge toll for retrofitting dynamic elements into an engine that's custom-made for varied, yet entirely static imagery. Don't know, but using such a dead end engine as shining example seems odd to me.
I'll make you a list then --based on http://www.techingames.com results, adding some other games on my own. Bolded the ones I have.I can't believe I'm typing this, but...
Can you make a list of console 60fps games, Cyan?Only released games, too many games have targeted 60fps and dropped it during development.
The link you shared invariably leads to the Chart tab, and says "Drop files here to upload". In order to obtain the information about the fps, you need to click on the Report tab, but the link doesn't change, you are always headed to the Chart tab. I think that would need to be fixed.Check techingames for that?![]()
The game doesn't look that bad --I am talking about Wolfenstein here, I've never played The Evil Within, although that one looks quite unappealing.Well, the Id tech5 games targeting 60fps aren't particularly impressive looking now, aren't they? What browser did you use? I don't get that problem using Chrome.
I was on the iPhone. Do you serve the same version to both devices? For me, many sites default to serving a mobile on iPhone and desktop on iPad.Can't replicate it on my iPad. Maybe just slow?
I was using IE11, sometimes flawed but it's a secure browser, and that's why I use it a lot. I also tried on Opera, my second favourite browser. Opera shows a Chart, but going to the Report pane shows the same link too.Yes, I took the chart on purpose, as I like the option you have there to zoom into a period and click platforms on and off by clicking on the legend.

Sorry I was in a hurry and didn't add the link with the pictures I wanted to show to @Sigfried1977 . This is the link:I don't know what images are being used, but Wolfenstein looks nowhere near as beautiful as FC4 from my own experience with both games on PS4, especially considering the scale of FC4, the effects and the lighting, the way the trees and foliage move and are illuminated in the sun.
Wolfenstein looks expectedly like a game that had to hit 1080p 60fps in a limited environment, but has much flatter lighting, textures and assets.
Atleast visually, Advanced Warfare also looks much better and runs at a solid 1080p60, no dynamic res BS in play
