Eye Of Judgement

My goodness, this game is amazing! I went online and got someone who was willing to allow me to learn, and the last battle we had we had a 29 round slugfest! Amazing stuff, at some point I was at check with no positions owned, and just enough power to place a mage and kill one opponent. At the end of the game I still just won it, barely, so exciting! Even with a sun-god against me. :D And how sweet to be able to watch a replay afterwards! :D

Man, this game is amazing! I would never have guessed ... 9 tiles just didn't seem enough. Maybe it doesn't have enough depth in the long run, that I don't know, but there's a lot of cards to experiment with and decks to create, and different maps, and all that with online (with voice and textchat with USB keyboard support, which I used this time, it has a fairly clever and useful chatwindow that you can move with the analog stick or hide by pressing on the analog stick)

Love this! Amazing that they managed to do so well with this new technology, really. Cards get recognised really quickly if you've got decent lighting.

Still amazed. But right now it's almost 4:00am and it's very much time for bed, my wife'll be up in a few hours probably waking me up ... :p

Sigh... too bad the game does not have recording feature. This would be one of those games that can do it easily.

And yes Arwin. I think the game rocks too. Hope Sony leverage on its channel partners (e.g., WotC and Hasbro) to incent/promote it to the right people. Once it gain critical mass, it will feed on its own momentum.

It almost has though doesn't it? You can watch the replay of your game. One small step further is to have the game save that replay to disc. Good chance we'll get that eventually.

Oh yeah, no doubt. In my view, this game deserves an 11/10, simply because it expands the whole gaming genre in such a remarkable way. It's better than for instance the first Guitar Hero, imho, as that game just took something that was already there (for 10 years in Japan) and brought it to a new (US) market successfully. This is something completely new, and I hope it catches on and spreads like wildfire, although obviously it doesn't tap into something that has as wide an appeal as the music does in Guitar Hero or Singstar.

So so awesome... I should catch you guys in an online match sometime! ;)

Anyone who feels like adding "cthellis" can do so; I'll be up for some rounds. ^_^

I don't have an extensive card collection or anything right now, though... My wallet aches.

Me neither. But that doesn't matter ... you can play with different sets (for instance you can both choose the default starter deck to play with in an online game), and playing smart is a bigger bottleneck than having a good deck in the beginning I think.

I may be able to play too ... just post here anyone if they're going to be on for this game on Sunday, and I'll see if I can join (I'm in Europe so may be harder)

I played some guys from the US last night with voice chat, and that went just great. The PS Eye is a great microphone for this kind of thing, so goodbye headset. Also, I played my first ranked game yesterday and just barely lost, was a very exciting game which showed me some strategies and adjustments to my deck I had thought of after my first games worked out very well.

If any of you in the US are avaiable to play during the afternoon (between 12:00 and 16:00), I might be able to have a match as for me that's in the evening (say 20:00 to midnight).

I saw it in a store here in Norway the other day, it was about 242 USD for pack, that would be about 164 Euro.

Found it in another store this weekend it was just 999 nok, which is 186 USD and 127 Euro, guessing I am picking this up on thursday, ie payday :D

I played this game in a friend's home and had some exciting matches as well as hilarious moments (like playing a Green Lycanthrope, begging it to come strong, but instead see it do a 0 attack and immediate die from the counter-attack). Since then, I can't help thinking about the strategies, card combinations etc. even though I don't have the game or even a PS3. :p

I bought the game today. I can only say that it is AWESOME :D

I hope I ll have the time to learn it better. I dont have time to spend on gaming much unfortunately due to studying :(

Resistance and Eye of Judgement are waiting for me

Had another great game, ranked, that was going well, got the upper hand early but had a tough fight that I nearly finished at the end with a nice strike from my fire god, but then I lost connection, which counts as a loss. :( The guy had 1 heart left, I had 20+ and clearly was going to win. Ah well, I enjoyed it anyway. Think I'll have another game tonight. I really didn't expect to enjoy this so much ...

All the impressions are so positive, my jealousy continues at full throttle.
I wonder if there is anyone who didn't like the game.

By the way, do you guys think that with relatively low sales, there is a danger of all decks becoming rare/ultra rare?

Is Eye of Judgment available without the PS Eye? Anybody know if such a version will be released?

I picked up the PS Eye last Friday for $30 in CompUSA (good deal if you're in the US, especially since it's a pick-up). Didn't feel like spending $70 for EoJ that day.

The camera is nice and slick, really looks nice in the entertainment unit on top of my receiver. Had fun creating some goofy videos with Eye create. I wouldn't some more editing features in Eye Create though, possibly using music as the soundtrack instead of only microphone recordings. The option to apply the filters on captured video would also be nice.

Now (of course), I'm thinking I might want to buy Eye of Judgment as well :D

I doubt it. I have not seen any Eye of Judgment packages without PS Eye.

I doubt it - the game sales are relatively low, but the card sales are doing seemingly quite well. Interesting to note that the game sales themselves are improving also, rather than tapering.

Yes, I read the same in GAF. This seems to be the kind of game that will gain a cult following and then grow over time. I REALLY hope that Hasbro and WotC market the product and concept aggressively. Sony seems to be distracted (or not betting much on this title) since I don't see any commercial for it, even for Internet distribution.

You know there were many times that Hasbro toys were appearing in TV as animated series such as Tranformers. The cards are produced by Hasbro. If Sony and Hasbro arrange a creation of an Eye of Judgement animated series and kids are attracted to it similarly to Yu Gi Oh they will go all over it.

Youngsters have great imagination and would LOVE to see their cards materialize into creatures. Pokemon, Digimon and the likes made these youngsters wish they could play a game that has the tension of their favorite animated series and that they could colaborate with their monsters.

PS3 may be expensive for youngsters but they would want it, especially in holidays as a present. This would help build a cult even farther for eye of judgement as well as improve the sales of the console. It will be perceived by them as a much better deal than Wii with such games and Sony ommited the importance of the eye camera. If I remember well it was Shifty that described well in the past the possibilities if the camera was packaged with the console from the beginning.

Then we have those mature dedicated fans such as those who love RPG card games. These people will take it even further since they are taking it more seriously.
