6 on the tube apparently and 3 buses although only one is reported to have been ripped apart. a double decker.

Aye, the Tavistock Place explosion. Which is scary because I had to divert through there on the way to work this morning. Just before the explosion I think.

Heh i go through kings cross every morning (picca line from finsbury park to hammersmith) to go to work... i was early... about 20 mins later and i'd have been stuck on the tube...

It's a whole big mess here, whereabouts do you work?

Angel. So we're kind of on the outskirts of everything - close to Kings Cross, Liverpool St, Russell Sq, Old Street, but thankfully pretty quiet at the moment.

Girlfriend said one of her work colleagues turned up (after being on the tube) covered in soot. Seems to be quite a common tale so far.

Damn .. I am so sorry to hear about this. Hope all of you in London/England are all safe and that none of your loved one's have been hurt.

Are there any clues as to who has perpetrated this?

US

fark guys.. hope you are all okay down there and can all get home :(

reports on popbitch are that an lu union guy says there were bomb warnings at 7am ... though god knows how often those are got :( .

i guess everyone assumes it's al-q , i guess it's easy to do something like the madrid bombings......

I hope no B3Ders got caught in one of those explosions.
What a mess...

Warnings aren't AQ's style are they? It certainly smacks of AQ, superficially at least. Frigging towel-heads.

My boss hasn't turned up today but we just got a message saying he's fine. Just can't get to work.

Hopefully no one i know was involved. It's gonna be big, only in Aldgate there were 2 deaths and 90 injured. And there's another 6 or so bombs...

warnings look like IRA, but aren't they sorted out these days...

huh hopefully there are not many dead :|

That's horrible news, I seriously hope that as few people as possible were harmed by this, but the sheer number of incidents probably means that won't be the case. Damn! :(

It's just an estimation, people are still stuck 3H later.

I'm watching the News now and they're saying that they disabled all the cellphones in the London area, for security reasons.

I'd guess it will be a bad day to be a Muslim here in the UK.

All the moronic meatheads are just going to leap at the opportunity to attack/intimidate anyone who looks arabic or from the subcontinent.

Unfortunately, it's been obvious for a long time that our civilians were going to be a 'target' so it's not that much of a surprise, especially with the focus on the UK because of the G8.

The police are going nuts here in Leicester, sirens everywhere (big Muslim population here, AQ suspects arrested here in the past).

I dunno if the death toll will be that high if it is most of deaths I would assume won't be from the explosions but from smoke inhalation.

I think the biggest hit will be the bus bombs.

An Islamist website has posted a statement - purportedly from al-Qaeda - claiming it was behind the attacks.

London's police chief Sir Ian Blair said traces of explosive had been found at one site.

A terror group linked to al Qaeda has claimed it carried out a series of terror attacks on London that have left a number of people dead and hundreds injured.

:(

Seems they up to their sh*t again.

Don't they learn? They gonna get trumpled on if they do this sort of thing.

Idiots

Even the train station down here in Poole (On the South coast of England) is in a state of complete lock-down - It's been closed and cordoned off with a massive police prescence.

My wife was due to be in London last night and this morning - Luckily she changed her mind and decided not to go.

*shrugs* Well like Mariner said it was bound to happen here eventually. It's a price we have to pay for our freedoms, unfortunately.

Much Kudos to the emergency services and the way the average brit is handeling this. No chaos on the streets, the sooner we can get on with life the better. Screw the terrorists, I for one will be taking the tube next time I have chance, no climate of fear here.
