Everybody's Gone to the Rapture [PS4]

For the most part, the game is getting positive reviews... personally, I will be picking this up myself. I'm into Myst and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter type of games...

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture on PS4 makes the apocalypse peaceful

What makes Rapture work is just how powerful that mystery is. I found myself completely absorbed by the story; I kept a pen nearby to keep track of people’s names and their relationships, and as I explored I not only learned about where all these people went (at least, I’m pretty sure I’ve figured it out) but I also got an incredibly intimate look into their lives. There are marriages in trouble, and problems with the church. These minor quibbles sometimes felt just as important as the big question at the heart of the game.

I'll try this later tonight. It does look wonderful and it's a shame that the CryEngine isn't used more.
Post your thoughts. The game looks quite intriguing but I'm not sure if it's for me. On the other hand it has a Commodore 64 and 1541 disk drive which reminds me of my childhoold. When I went to the rapture. :runaway:

I am intrigued. Also, thread title is incorrect. Hang on, I just remembered I am a mod ... :runaway:

The reign of terror begins! :runaway:

I caved and bought it. I thought it was a full priced game but it was £12 with the PS+ discount. Download faster, Rapture!

Well it's definitely a beautiful game, and intriguing. Two hours in and I'm probably half way through it, which for £12 is cheaper than a night out, I guess!

Do let us know your impressions guys, without spoilers please, Too many good games this year, money will need to be rationed out specifically for titles !

Ah forgot about this! I finished the same day I got it, all in all it's probably a 5 hour game. It's a great little experience at a very low price. I liked it a lot. But be prepared, the slow walking could get on your nerves.

You really have to be willing to explore to get the most from the story and that takes a lot of time. Mainly because of the very sedate pace you move at, but the story is good (not amazing) and if you like that kind of experience then it's worth the 12 bucks. If you hate slow games, and easter egg hunts then it's not the game for you!

I love this game!

The scenery is so gorgeous (really gorgeous), and the mood(s) is creepy & beautiful at the same time.

If you have ADHD, you need not buy. :nope:

I also like it a lot. Having played The Vanishing of Ethan Carter recently this feels quite similar.

However, with the recent memory from Ethan Carter the graphics here are not as good as they could have been.

I doubt that, to me Rapture looks superior with actual dynamic shadows. The ones in Ethan are literally static, not a cascading shadow in sight. Took some shots from my 3 hours of playthourgh, really digging the story and characters so far, wish there's a worthy ending to the mystery.

I'm enjoying it so far I must admit. And it is very pretty but the vibe I'm getting from the game is like a post apocalyptic episode of the Archers... Which is pretty cool in many ways :)

Game is on sale for just $8 !!!!
This is why I still don't have UC collection ! Bloody good games at low prices empty my wallet before I can add up the total costs and see that I am overspending everywhere !

Bought this an year ago in sale, as the post above says, but played it today and oh boy oh boy oh boy ! I absolutely loved it !!!! So well done, I felt like I was walking through an amazing sci-fi-ish novel !
