E3 Demos On XBL Marketplace On The Way

On the marketplace right now is a Lost planet pre-e3 trailer (which looks fantastic!) that states at the end there will be a playable demo available on may 9th!

I knew XBL was good for something, but this... this is an excellent idea/use of XBL. :D

It'd be cool if MS had some daily footage uploaded, seeing as how most people won't be able to go to E3.

An HD version of the keynote would be a great start there!

This is where the whole "living room domination" is going to come through.

MS and Sony will be able to practically use these 2 console as a way to "broadcast" videos, demos, anything they want (adverts too, obviously, they're not stupid!).

Who needs GameTV or whatever other Gaming TV channel when you have content, sometimes playable, directly to your console?

And in the meantime, they will both advertise whatever other products they make (Sony will advertise all other electronics they make and MS all their PC software), all for free (they're not paying a TV channel for ad space, which is very expensive), which is VERY good business for them.

Came home from work at about 2am, turned on the 360, saw the demo and realized I was glad I pre-ordered this. Looks like it might be a whole bunch of fun. My daily routine is get home, check for SFII...wake up, check for SFII.

To expletives point, I would be appalled if keynotes from, E3 and TGS and Xnn, didn't get put on marketplace.

Tune Into Marketplace
Xbox Live Marketplace is the environment that brings Xbox Live Arcade into the home. Besides being home to the newest trailers, demos, game content downloads, and more, it will also play host to some of the hottest downloads from E3 2006. "It is our goal to bring E3 home to Xbox Live members as best we can, all the videos and the news as quickly as possible," vowed Peter. "We will give you the flavor of what's going on, on the show floor and some of the stuff that we are showing and debuting here."

E3 will be a real test for Xbox Live because everyone will be tuned into their Xbox consoles and continually downloading new content. "If we can get through Halo® 2, which we did, then I think we can get through anything."

Xbox Live members should be able to play many of the demos that even the celebrities will be testing out at E3. Steven Spielberg tried out Call of Duty® 2 last year at the Microsoft booth, and Peter says he is sure Spielberg has E3 already marked on his calendar. The movie industry and the gaming industry are moving closer together as more and more games are developed based off of films.

This is really a good idea, as it allows people to actually try the demos instead of watching videos and reading impressions. Thus the consumer can make his mind up on his own instead of relying on others. Though, some demos could be released prematurely. Anyway, thumbs up for MS.

I'm worrieed about bandwidth issues if everyone's downloading at E3.

It would be really cool if they released an update to te dash to allow streaming video a few days before the event, then offered streams of the different kenotes and tech demo's.

Can't wait....Gears of War demo in 2 weeks???? Hmmm....hey I can hope!!

Common sense use of XBL.

Hopefully without editing parts out (well putting up a notice on screen) from the video like they did last year.

Who had the best video last year, GameSpot?

cool

yea streaming would be great but if not, I can wait for my download just to see/hear the details myself.

unbelievable

it looks so much better on my HDTV than you can gather from any online video or screen
the motion blur is beautiful with sweet particle effects and it's smooth (AA) as a baby's butt.
animation looks very good also

I'm impressed with Capcom here, I hope the gameplay lives up to the graphics

I'm sure MS will be busy patting themselves on the back for this, but hey, I think they earned it.

agreed, this is a worthy use of the Live connection IMO

this may be just a small sample of the future of console connectivity

Supposedly this is 60fps too!

Trailer is absolutely gorgeous, I agree about the motion blur, really adds a sweet touch to the graphics. I just hope the gameplay matches up. E3 is gonna rock.
