Why is ther DX 9.1 in this roadmap?

Why is there a DX10.0 in this roadmap? ;)

That's simply marketing, they use "DX9.1" to discriminate between PS/VS 2.0 and PS/VS 3.0

Why don't you listen to me?

I have the beta of DX 9.1. I can prove it.

Just give me time to download Photoshop. ;) :devilish:

But Dx10 will be released 12-18 months from now. So I guess it´s not impossible that MS will release a Dx version they call Dx9.1 sometime in the next 18 months.

Certainly not. It's just being sure of the when's and what's of such a thing at this point is pure conjecture.

MS presently aren't even talking about "DirectX 10" they will presently only refer to "DirectX Next".

I guess the next major Dx will be released with Longhorn. So when late betas and RC:s of longhorn are released people might be able to try the new Dx. That could be interesting.

Word on the street is- the DX9.1 beta has the "NVIDIA- The Way It's Meant to be Played" logo on API initialization.

 :p

Slight OT, but this 'Next' branding seems to getting stuck to a number of upcoming MS products. I hope they don't brand Longhorn as Windows Next. Apple would be livid. :)
