Difference between VB6 and VB.NET?

I looked through Google and came up short.

I find VB 6 bloated, crap and annoying. Is VB.NET a big change from VB6?

I find coding in Win32 using C++ easier and quicker for me than to make a simple 2 form project in VB6.

Syntax the same?
Is it less bloated?

if you can write simple 2-form project quicker on C++ (MSVC?) than on VB6, then vb.net should be "less bloated" for you perhaps...
Although , how you can create so slowly forms on VB6 is a puzzle for me - usually I do it with 4 clicks - 3 with left mouse button and 1 with rightMB .... LOL
