I've already bought some gear from the Q-Master, but with a 100 mark/week limit it's slow going. I'm just disappointed with lack of quality drops from doing the daily and weekly strike missions. I guess I should have started a duplicate character early on to farm.
Duplicates will speed things up a lot. But, it is pretty boring and takes 10-12 hours. They wont necessarily help you on the legendary armor front at first because it takes a bit to get vanguard rank 2, but they will on the strange coins front.
The 100 mark limit isn't bad...two weeks tops from a standing start to get 3 legendary pieces, and you should have already had an exotic armor from Xur (only 13 coins). That'll get you to 29.
Re-posting for new page brag, I got my raid gloves and am now destined for 30! Woo hoo!!!
I guess it was a bit odd how I got them, being a new week I wasn't sure whether to level my 3rd alt some more (he's 13) or Raid this morning, only had a couple hours. Made the decision to raid. So on my first run through on normal (first raid this week) I get disconnected right before the oracle loot. And miss the loot. I go back in and get the other 3 phases (got VoC and Last Word). So then I cant decided whether to try to go back and pick up that oracle point, or just move all my gear to the other char and do a fresh run again and worry about the oracle on that char later if at all. I decide to pick up the oracle, but people are mostly doing fresh runs. I actually was pretty much planning on ditching my team after oracles, yeah I was gonna be sucky
Anyways we beat the oracles and whattya know...the gloves drop! So, glad I made the decision to raid, and the decision to pick up that oracle loot checkpoint too! I was happy enough about the gloves I stayed with the team through the end
Interestingly I got no duplicates of raid gear. The only 3 pieces I got were all different.
I was correct, normal pretty much feels like a breeze after hard...
I'm not sure how this will affect my interest in the game going forward. I assume it'll drop off at least some. Which isn't a bad thing, so many hours wasted already on this game. There's not a whole ton I want weapon wise now that I have vision...thunderlord sounds awesome, have some weapons that need leveling, etc.
