Yeah, Icebreaker has been a godsend for soloing missions. Definitely pick it up if it goes on sale again.I definitely want Icebreaker. A sniper with ammo regen will allow me to solo the much harder strikes (which is basically not possible now).
You get a reward for every level above 3, but it's not guaranteed to be a weapon. As Nisaaru said, there's no reason to save your marks up... the vanguard quartermaster doesn't change its inventory.Anyway, I'm just about to Vanguard Rank 3 and was thinking about buying a Legendary. Is this a good idea, or should I save my Marks? I already have two legendary primaries (Lord High Fixer and POX). I think I read somewhere that after each Vanguard Rank above 3 you are gifted a Legendary anyway, so if true buying might be redundant. I do need better weapons right now though. I am in the middle of an exotic bounty which will eventually get me the Pocket Infinity fusion rifle.
That totally depends on your play-style/weapon preference and what you need. If you have a good primary already, Light/Beware looks to be a solid fusion rifle. If buying a Vanguard Legendary is a good idea, which one would you guys recommend? I was thinking either Shadow Price or Light/Beware. Or maybe one of the Scout Rifles?

Here is a bunch of weapon data (supposedly) by a guy on reddit.
The comments does explain my incidence of damage not going up on a lower level mob when I upgraded attack
Also, according to his testing, Suros doesn't appear that great (post nerf). I always use Atheons Epilogue in the raid cause I always figured void damage for praetorian shields, plus oracle killer perk, = great. Now I'm beginning to second guess because I bet AE is not even as good as Suros, it might not even be close.
Still digesting his post.
Suros is perhaps a bit overrated, but I think it's still a very good all around weapon. VoC is just better and is arguably the best primary in the game, especially after the buff and small AR nerf.
I agree the ammo reserve would be an issue, but my armor holds more reserve ammo for ARs and hand cannons. Otherwise I think it's more like 280-something.
VoC and scout rifles in general are very efficient and seem to never run out of ammo. They have become very popular since the buff.
Ran the Raid 2x this morning on normal (once with each of my chars), basically got nothing of interest except "Universal Remote" exotic which I was told was a primary Shotgun that isn't that good (and I never run shotgun).
Nothing much left to do this week than dabble in hard mode I guess, and maybe even leveling another alt. I'll probably do the weekly for the coins.
Honestly the daily missions/PE chores are becoming a bit irrelevant to me, while I could always use more, shards and energy are not my limiter, you get enough from raids. So with not worrying about them as much there's a whole chunk less to do in the game.
I think I've made the tactical decision to shrink 12 shards into my legendary armor to hit 29. Why not as I basically idle waiting for raid gear to fall...
Ooh, I got my choice of not one but two easy (no PVP) exotic bounties just now.
I went with the one that yields super good advice (machine gun). A quick google yielded people saying Pocket Infinity (the other choice) was useless post-nerf.
This bounty is said to be super easy and take an hour at most...
Not that jazzed anymore as I have exotics and legendaries coming out my ears at this point, but still happy. I do tend to run machine gun rather than rocket launcher.
