Destiny [PS3,X360,PS4,XO]

I mean, it's fantastic to look at the art and fantasize but really, I kinda think you cant really translate that to a gfame. I mean Destiny is a game and you're going to be playing the same content over and over.

In other words translation from imagination to reality, necessitates a huge downgrade imo. Still, I've been playing it so long I forget sometimes how awesomely stylish it is. The first time I did VOG, one of the best memories I'll ever have in gaming, and boy did our crew of 6 look so damn cool running through those mazes. I kept using the phrase Lord of The Rings to describe it, it reminded me of that movie in the best way.

What the art does show though is more variety in environments, and I'd love to see that in Destiny 2. Riding creatures like the giant frog would be cool too. I'd also love it to be Neo/Scorpio exclusive, for really great graphics. The market says that aint gonna happen, though :( Next question is how much they can improve the graphics by sticking to XBO and PS4 as the baseline instead of 360/PS3.

I have a lot of hope though for Destiny 2 based on the networking of Destiny 1 article I read, basically a lot of this stuff was proof of concept and hadn't really been done before. In 2 they're really going to be able to stretch their legs. Stuff like, in game LFG, ingame clan support, way more than 16 players in the same PVE zone, I bet all that is coming.

The downside is they'll have had what, 2-3 years to work on it? Even with a crew of hundreds (but, a significant chunk has to do upkeep on Destiny 1) Sadly that signals to me a necessity for a more iterative than revolutionary product.

The podcasts I've listened to seem to think Destiny 2 isn't coming until FALL 2017. Last word I recall they were aiming for SPRING 2017. Those podcasts thus assume ROI is the last major content drop for a whole year. Always bet the delay in video games, so 90%, they are correct. I guess they will try to do "live" events to fill the gap in 2017. But, another major content drought would seem to be coming after ROI. Can the game survive another? ROI is not even going to be as big as Taken King, per Bungie themselves.
You know what, when we played the VOG for the first time Idescribed the experience exactly as LOTR too :D ! It felt fantastic following our Gandalf, the one player who knew, into the unknown ! Thats my most unforgettable gaming memory too. VOG has that mystery, disorienting level design and a certain freedom that mixes together as a super cool experience. It was our ownpersonal LOTR expereince. I still temember the waves of "oohs" and "whoas!" that passed through the group again n again !

Yeah Bungie has that special amazing ingredient in Destiny art. I got wowed by it again day before when i jumped into the matchmade Prison of Elders, had forgotten the general look of the maps and went wow on two of them :)

I think Luke Smith is still riding the good vibes of VOG to increase his career, I heard somewhere he's lead designer on Destiny 2.

I used to listen him on 1up podcasts years ago. Kinda crazy. I never got the sense he was super smart or anything, but whatever!

I dont know, on twitch the much ballyhooed Overwatch already just isn't THAT far ahead of Destiny in viewers sometimes. It'll be a while, but could Destiny eventually outlive another Kingpin that was supposed to take it down? And the most amazing to me, it does that without any PC version, which pretty much no other game that dominates twitch does. Although Blops 3 is probably mostly played on console at twitch. Out of the top ten viewed right this second on twitch what do all these have in common?

1. League of Legends
2. Hearthstone
3. Dota 2
4. World of Warcraft (new expansion puts this here)
5 Counter Strike GO
6. Overwatch
7. Battlefield 1
8. Path of Exile
9. World of Tanks
10. Destiny

What do they all have in common? They're all PC based to one degree or another, and at least have a PC version, except Destiny, which doesn't have a PC version. It makes sense, easiest to stream games and watch twitch from PC, PC tends to have the most community.

The multiplayer and Trials is what really keeps Destiny alive on twitch in the slow times.

The pvp is frustrating and boring. Repeat map. Horrible matchmaking. Annoying announcer that I want to murder.

Destiny pvp never grabs me like titanfall and battlefield. Except the excellent big map in the moon with sparrow enabled! Too bad bungie quickly removed the map

Private matches is arguably the biggest thing to come out of RoI... this is great for twitch streamers and it's great for groups of friends.

Like it or not, PVP is what keeps Destiny going during all the down time. Weekends are definitely the peak for Destiny twitch streamers because of Trials. And/or whenever there's a tournament.

Well, that's opinion I guess. Destiny PVP IS INCREDIBLY frustrating for me, but given it's the first MP shooter I've really been into, I just assume they're all that way. It's also incredibly fun and addictive.

Skyshock was a TERRIBLE map (well, at least for typical fun, I understand what it is, the huge vehicles map), I hated it, I assume everybody else hated it, and I assume that's why Bungie quickly removed it! You couldn't even find any action. Whatever it is, bad or good, it's not the same thing as all the other maps and didn't fit in. Put it in it's own seperate playlist or something if anything.

I guess with private matches you can explore it to your hearts content though.

Say BF1, playing the beta all that happened is I get sniped out of nowhere by prone guys I cant see on cliffs 500 feet above you (that I assume have been hardcore playing BF for about a decade). And saw the same reaction on GAF...it's not really the same type of thing as Destiny though. You basically cant even jump, it's rather crude gameplay from a twitch perspective. I'm sure it follows in the Battlefield tradition...which is more like, you are an army guy, a cog in a machine, not a skilled killer.

Oh and Shaxx is frickin amazing! You are crazy on that one.

Shaxx is crazy. He keeps telling me I'm dumb, I need to work harder, even when I'm top 2 player in my team.

I want to murder him many times. More times than I did heroic strikes.

About bf1. Why don't you use other facilities then? You can crush the building using a tank if shooting using a tank is too hard for you. Or use anything else.

In destiny, I am stuck with keeps getting killed by snipers. One shotted by shotguns.

Ages ago I still can outsnipe them with thorn, outshotgun them with fusion rifle.

Heck, I can simply rush to them using sparrow in the moon map. There's also lots of cover and alternative route in the moon map.

In destiny if you suck as an infantry, you suffer. In battlefield one you can just use all the vehicles. Or just ride as passenger.

In titanfall 1, I can do lots of other stuff to win and or feel great

In BF1 a few times I spawn in tank, I dont know why, I'm at some kind of side window I guess, shooting a machine gun, except there's nothing to shoot cause I'm facing the rear. The driver is terrible usually. I cant figure out how to get out of the tank. Eventually I figure out how to switch position but they all seem to face backward. Then the driver parks next to a fire probably. So I have a nice close up view of some wreckage blocking everything, I cant move or do anything.. Then inevitably we get blown up for some reason. I'm completely powerless in all this and cant (at least I dont know how) leave the tank.

Ah! Yeah I get what you mean. Going straight into battlefield without knowing any the basic vehicle stuff is a horrible experience.

Because my friend was like that (including keeps getting horrible drivers) in bf4. Until I piloted a heli and he ride as a gunner. Until I mained a tank and he as a gunner.

I've finally completed the Class Quests of all classes with the exception of Gunslinger(accidentally deleted it almost completed a few months ago).

Ironically the Defender which I thought would be a real bother was quite smooth. Nightstalker was probably the most frustrating.

Nightstalker,Sunsinger,Defender and Bladedancer with the help of Mayhem Clash and Salvage(good for Defender melee). As I don't play ToO I've never really appreciated the Sunsinger at all in PvP and had real issues to get grenade kills until I switched to the tracking Fusion one. Solar is only really useful if you need tactical area control(Rift/Salvage) but you rarely get direct kills.

Forget the super in Mayhem Clash. It's all about grenades and with tracking you're crushing a lot people's spirit.

I also finally learned to appreciate the Nightstalker's Quiver Super if it would only last longer. It's unfair vs. Gunslinger's 12seconds. IMHO the class with the highest learning curve in PvP and I hardly think I'm anywhere competent with it.

Edit: Got my Mayhem/Clash ELO to 1102 as a benefit.

I'm so much better with Mida than any other gun it's sad. Might as well be a different player.

Looking at Guardians gg stats, I think Mida is just great. It's even the most used gun in Trials by far, which isn't sweaties but probably the next best thing. It doesn't seem to get a ton of discussion on crucible playbook

I've got an Imago Loop with reenforced barrel, trying that a little, I like the model better than Finnala's. It doesn't have LITC like my best Finnala's though. It has one more point on range, 68 to 67 I think. Not sure that matters or might even be a typical Destiny bug. Oh, the great thing is it has third eye. That's really turning into one of my most favorite perks. I have some of the best rolls ever in this game (like my quickdraw/hidden hand/short gaze LDR!) but I dont have any eyesluna with rifled or reenforced yet. It's possible I sharded one before I knew what to look for in HC rolls.

If I could get a little comfortable with HC's, I'd have 3 of 4 primaries covered (I'm ok with Hawksaw/PDX). I'd probably leave AR's alone for now, as they are weak in this meta (also seems they wouldn't be hard to "learn"). It would be cool to be able to actually do all the different primary bounties though, not that I really care since bounties are fairly useless. It's just before they seemed off limits.

At this point I'm just so bored of Mida. I'd like to get these last 30 skirmish wins so I can go back to clash, which is a lot easier to not get destroyed in when using different guns. And get into ROI so hopefully I can at least find a good legendary Mida archetype.

Speaking of ROI they said they're gonna rebalance. I'm wondering what.

TBH I hate it, I REALLY hate it but by the numbers Mida would be a top nerf candidate.

Honestly weapons are almost perfectly balanced right now IMO. Maybe a slight AR buff, sidearm buff (cause I'd love to use em!) is about it. Every primary class is represented and there's great variety in crucible. Well, except for me with Mida LOL but that's more cus I suck.

Honestly nobody ever talks about it but I almost feel grenades and supers are OP. In that they regen so fast, once you throw in all the double grenade armor and various things that make your super and grenades regen even faster, and then you get chaining supers... Hell I've seen Triplewreck on stream do his stormcaller super, kill about 6 guys...then get it right back again almost immediately because he's killing so many/chaining, kill about 6 more with it...etc. It's not like I would be in favor of nerfs of those though. Oh and grenades are kinda extreme in crucible and annoying right now. Especially the ones people love to just spam in a contested area to obscure everything constantly.

Oh and of course Voidwalkers and Stormcallers need nerfs. I have a feeling hell will freeze over before Bungie nerfs Warlocks though. So sickening on podcasts how everybody who works at Bungie runs a Warlock.

Hmm, I've been running sidearms in crucible since 2.4. I've always wanted to love sidearms so bad as I feel they fit my playstyle so perfectly (I once read a comment on reddit that if you typically use your primary the most sidearms are a good fit for you. That is SO me). Been even getting a few good kills with them, a first.

Time will tell if they are viable over snipers or shotguns, even for me, with the new buffs.

I am surprised there is no new events in the Cosmodrome with the patch. Like the wolves prowling in HoW. Maybe next week?

Prordered ROI, it's 30 bucks? Thought it was 20. So that means if better have more content than TDB and HOW. That's half of a new game, should be good for Bungie's bottom line.

I dont see that as the game's fault honestly. I had my best times riding passenger in others tanks, switching guns to cover all sides and wrecking absolute havoc. If someone throws an anti tank grenade, whch the game is kind enough to point out, i jump out kill the bloody spoilsport and jump back in and continue my sortie. You use the sqaure or A button to jump in and out.
As for bad drivers, trust me bad drovers usually abandon the tank when they reach an objective. It sbest to stick in there and swtich to driver seat the moment they ditch the tank. Only asses ditch them, they are the most powerful thing out there. And if end up with a guy who understands tank's role, you are basically in heaven becuase he will make sure he lines up the sides of the tanks against the enemeies so the passengers can shoot out correctly.
If i drive , I make sure i do that always. A tank full of passengers is unstoppable in BF1 unless the other team has a sensible player in it [emoji14]

luckily its a rare thing in PS4. In PC there's too many of them though

In fact there is another wierd thing i noticed on the 7th. No one , no one at all was playing the medic on pc in the 4 matches i played! On Ps4 I would get revived by someone near me but on PC there was no one ....all were playing the Assualt class /Scout. I guess the fear of tanks os strong in this one , i never saw such leaning towards one class in any BF before.

You use the sqaure or A button to jump in and out.

It was on PC...and I think I hit every single key on the keyboard. Literally. Never jumped out.

Side note: Sidearms are fun! Not sure how good, skeptical they can ever really match shotguns and snipers but, fun! Today I ran and escaped about 5 supers jumping like crazy just out of their reach, did a 180 mid air spin in safety, came down on a guy blasting him to death in mid air with my sidearm. Love stuff like that. To keep in mind that sidearms and hand cannons have great mid air accuracy. That type of stuff has never been my thing, I usually get disoriented in CQC but, it's fun to try!

Sidarms are interesting because they have a real small sweet spot, like, maybe 4-10 meters. Closer the enemy is gonna melee or shotgun. Farther you cant hit or do little damage. Buit I love trying new paradigms in this game. With the buff they mow people down FAST. They cant match shotgun OHK speed of course but, not far behind! Mostly I just body shot and spam that trigger as fast as I can.

Its E on pc.
And agree about sidearms. Am using one too these days and the ones with high fire rate are super effective.

I feel like MIda is even more OP (it was underrated OP before) after 2.4. Now it can challenge snipers better. And since the most common class of snipers got nerfed, once again Mida rises by comparison.

Did really well in two Mida/Sidearm matches today, but then again that's usually heavily competition dependent for a small sample size. Again I dont want to get ahead of myself because I've been wrong a lot before, but Mida/Sidearm seems like it could be brutal as I learn it's strengths. I've always been good at mid-long but never had a close option that I felt comfortable with. If I develop that, it could be very powerful.

I haven't minded the rocket nerf too much yet. The thing is I'm so Mida dependant, probably moreso with a sidearm because i need a long range option there. I'm hoping in ROI I can find a good legendary Mida archetype. That would enable me to use Truth. Or I guess I could go back to vendor Tormond's. Thing is to make that good, you need to manually switch to heavy payload after grabbing heavy every time, and I'm never one who likes to do that switching perks/armor/etc at any time during a match nonsense (although I guess if I played Trials or something "important" I might).

My amazing roll LDR was part of the nerf class, but I cant mind too much. It still has just slightly more AA (now even than Longbow) and it's a spectacular roll regardless. All in all it's still simply the best possible PVP sniper/roll you could have. The difference to 1KYS is just less. Out of 1k/Longbow/LDR LDR is still the best all else equal.

Up to 87 skirmish wins, after that just Rumble and Doubles Grimoire left. i was really looking forward to being able to go back to just casual clash (since I was going to explore cheating the other grimoire with pvt matches), but now I dont know, i feel like I might lose motivation. Grimoire gives me a goal, however limited.
