Destiny [PS3,X360,PS4,XO]

destinylfg.com...just put an ad up or reply and you'll get invited soon enough. Although 270 isn't enough to do Kings Fall.

One of the more impressive PVP videos you'll see, guy does 1 v 3 Trials, goes 26-0 and ran out of medals against these guys, some of his evades are just sick. As well as the way he uses his grenades for area denial. If I'm not mistaken this vid had 40 k views when I first saw it earlier today and now nearly 100k so it must be blowing up.

I actually looked up the opposing teams gamertags and...they're decently bad I guess, two had a k/d over 1 though and they play pretty competently.

A streamer named Realkraftyy does double trials carries every weekend (meaning he carries 2 viewers to the lighthouse) and he has been in 1v3 situations plenty of times because his teammates suck. I don't think I've seen him purposely go 1v3, but I'm sure he could accomplish the same.

But that was indeed very impressive. Going 1v3 against any team is no easy task, especially without dying. His use of shade step and forcing 1v1 situations in particular was very impressive.

Not nearly as impressive as the above video, but I pieced together various clips that I managed to gather from year 2 Trials. TrueVanguard from PlanetDestiny makes a cameo at the 0:42 mark as we were matched up against RESOLUTE. We lost 5-3 but I managed to go positive that match and I got a few good snipes on TV.

I think I've kinda hit a wall in crucible lately...a couple weeks ago I thought I'd reached a new level where I usually went 17-10 or something like that with regularity. Then in the last few days I've struggled. Not sure why.

My k/d is .88 and I was shooting to raise it to 1, but it would take a long time to do it and to do it I basically have to stick to 1 or 2 top loadouts, play clash and rumble, and Bladedancer. Which gets boring. So, I dunno, .9 is a nice round number and a lot easier to reach, once I get there I may just go back to playing however I want. It's getting hard to raise my k/d, both because I've now played so much in the past it's hard to move the needle statistically, and because that's about where I belong I guess.

My personality tends to OCD about numbers, particularly k/d is one that I can get obsessed with, sometimes I have to force myself to back off and just play for enjoyment.

Also I wonder a lot about the matchmaking, sometimes it seems really hard to eek out a decent k/d, others it can be really easy, so, I wonder a lot about what the matchmaking is doing behind the scenes. Like I may play clash, it might seem really tough competition, switch to rumble and all the sudden it seems like a bunch of noobs for competition. Obviously the matchmaking is doing something there. And my Elo on Guardian.gg is higher on rumble so it seems opposite what you'd expect.

I dunno, matchmaking is just one of those fuzzy things to blame and speculate about since none of us will ever be able to pin it down.

I think rumble is easiest to rack up k/d on, I think because you cant be screwed by running into a bunch of pubstompers, but I hate knowing I'm playing a game mode just for k/d. I at least like to switch it up between clash and rumble/

Skribbles I do watch a few twitch streamers here and there, I'm familiar with Krafty. Triplewreck is the main one I've watched a few times. And Luminosity a bit.

I found a hot, relatively unknown (well at least when I started watching her) female Destiny pvper named Annalias (something like that). She's a bit dingy/annoying as far as stream personality, but the first time I watched her I was legit impressed with how good she was, especially for being female, hot, and unknown. She was running off many ten+ kill streaks with ease, and I think even had like a 25 streak while I was watching. Last time I saw her for about ten minutes she sucked, but I think that was just because she was at the end of a 25 hour marathon.

Sniping needs a nerf. Get rid of the aim assist completely in PvP, make people really aim.
I think you're degrading the amount skill required to snipe in Destiny a bit. Yes the aim assist is decently high in the game, but it's not like anyone can just jump into the crucible and snipe with ease. It takes a lot of practice and skill to use a sniper and be successful.

PlanetDestiny did a test and it's not like bullets curve or anything like that, there's just a somewhat small 'magnet' on targets so the cross-hairs stick a little longer as you drag your cross-hairs over your target (which varies depending on how high the aim assist is on the weapon). And it's not like the assist just instantly locks onto the head, it's a slow drift.

Aim assist is perhaps a bit high, but I think SOME aim assist is needed on consoles because thumb sticks aren't as accurate as a mouse.

If I'm not mistaken every single console FPS has aim assist to some degree. I doubt Destiny will be the first to remove it. I guess you are asking it to be toned down really.

Evidently in Destiny primaries have "bullet bending", but very slight. Snipers only have reticule stickiness.

Bungie update...some "crimson doubles" PVP event for Valentines day (looks like I wont care...although is there loot/ranks etc? If so...maybe)

I've been steadfast to say a (just one) major DLC is coming, but I figured in March/April...which likely means they'd have to start pimping. Ehh, if it's April though, they have time still.

And IB the 26th, cool.

Just like with all the small maps becoming sliding, blinking shotgun-fest, all the larger areas are snipe-fest. The one shot kills is aggravating, even if it takes some skill. There are just too many ways to die instantly in Destiny PvP, they should preserve this for specials and heavy ammo. Everything else should take at least two shots. They could tweak it by limiting ammo. For example special weapon ammo gives two shotgun shells or two sniper shots, use them wisely. They should also nerf ammo for swords and machine guns.

Yeah that's something that's being discussed among the community, limiting special ammo and promoting primary use more often. They already did make changes to special ammo, but further limiting wouldn't hurt. Giving less ammo per pickup would be a good idea. Also limiting ammo perks on armor to PVE only would be a good idea.

Personally I think the problem is not the weapons but the horrible map design.

Look at titanfall. Anything can be countered with anything due to the map design.

See a sniper sitting far away? Sneak in and kill it. Or swipe in using the cables to rush kill it.

Enemy going close range in claustrophobic space? Stop staying indoors... Or you can maneuver in door using cloak, boost, wall running, or wall sticking.

Enemy going close range in outdoors? Just use your imagination to counter it. So many countless possibilities.

Even better, the vehicles (titan) also always available on Amy map and can be countered even by infantry.

But nobody likes that kind of freedom. People prefer claustrophobic map like call of duty.

That's why every version of battlefield goes more and more claustrophobic. Less and less vehicles.

That's why I don't blame bungie to follow this trend. I blame bungie for scraping their innovation to give variation in this trend by disabling the big map vehicles from normal Playlist.

Their big vehicles map have lots of things titanfall have.

Verticality, escape and infiltration route, vehicles, and lots of freedom.

freedom to sit and snipe using vehicle or on foot, to rush in the indoors, to roam around using vehicles or on foot.

So sniper, shotgun*, primary rifles. All viable.

*I almost never use shotgun. I used fusion rifles for close indoor encounter. But I suspect probably shotgun also viable

No offense Pelupa but I despise the super huge vehicle maps. Spends forever even trying to find any action,

I mean maybe they are good when you understand them or something, but when they used to come up I hated them. Plus lets be honest realistically in Destiny any large map=sniper fest, any small map=shotgunning fest. So the super big map=super super snipe fest.

I bet Bungie had some sort of overwhelming data like 50% of players leave immediately when those big maps came up, LOL.

No offense taken and I understand that. As I said, the majority of destiny players prefer small maps. While I totally hate small maps.

So destiny pvp really doesn't mix with me at all. And bungie as the developer, simply caters to the majority.

And about sniper fest, yes in the big maps lots of people snipes. But those big Maps also allows you to counter them. By sniping back, by using map vehicle, by using sparrow, by sneaking to them...

So many options.

Edit: maybe people simply hates too many options? Titanfall dies really fast while I really like it's freedom.

Battlefield also keeps reducing the engagement options I'm every new version.

Or the many options actually are good and people wants them, but all this time the developers simply unable to present them in a good manner.

Just saw this on reddit and it's so neat (only for Xbox users). Ok maybe for 5 minutes til the novelty wears off.

http://guardian.theater/

Put in your gamertag and it will show you all the clips people have recorded that have you in them.

First clip I smoked somebody with my trusty Dis-43 hah.

I would have thought these would be few or even none, but for example even lowly old me looks to be in tons and tons of clips even just recently. I guess Xboxers are recording a lot.

Also some of the clips may not even feature you in the recorded action, it's just any footage of the games you were in I imagine (your name will at least be in the player list). But anyways a lot do.

This is really cool. I was surprised to find me there:)

Grabbed Destiny TTK on a whim as a Christmas gift to myself. This is the first console fps I've ever really played and having a good time so far, though still getting used to running around shooting things with thumbsticks. Titan at 270 light.

The game is fun but the social features are rubbish and it seems nobody does lower level raids anymore. I read that Vault of Glass is a lot of fun but I might never see it.

I don't understand Bungie's stubbornness about restricting high level content to people who happen to have a lot of friends who play Destiny on the same platform at the same time. I have exactly zero friends who (1) own a ps4 and (2) have even heard of the game. Let the hardcore guys form private fire teams but let the rest of us scrubs use matchmaking with randoms if we want to.

Check out the100.io to schedule game sessions. You still find a few VoG/Crota Raids there but it's rare now.

Skip grenades are so much better than arcbolt. As long as the enemy is nicely in front of you, they are great for priming. I think half my kills now follow that skip prime>primary kill pattern.

They do way more damage at least potentially. I'm not sure but it seems like occasionally they can kill a full health enemy. Plus they seem to confuse the target. They'll start running around trying to avoid rather than firing on you, where if they just fired on you they could maybe kill you.

The increased damage also nets you a lot more random cleanup kills than arcbolt.

I dont know if Shinobu's Vow is coming out (double skip grenade exotic), but those suckers will be awesome.

I'm starting to appreciate ATS8/ Tarantalla a lot too. I notice when I accidentally forget to have it on in Crucible. I also now have max discipline and intellect. So my grenades cool down in 25 seconds plus whatever bonus ATS8 gives ( I think they make cooldown 22 seconds), so I have super fast grenade recharge. Very nice.

The IB Covalance's Duty is, as often the case with IB weapons, spectacularly rolled. The weakness of that weapon (and all high impact scouts) is low aim assist, and the IB roll has hidden hand to (at least partly) address that. On top of that it has zen moment and another stability perk...

The weapon still may not be that great (the problem with high impact scouts is it's head shots or bust) but that's a great roll. Gonna need it...

Oy, Rift, I kid not I started out losing the FIRST SIX MATCHES (anything past 5 is lost playing time). Many of them my team literally never once even grabbed the spark.

I dunno, I adjusted my attitude to basically assume any win, any win at all, will be gravy, and it's not too bad. Finally on the 7th match the opposition was so bad we couldn't help but win. I'm starting to feel out rift so I can help out more with grabbing the spark and such, too. Maybe it's because I'm highly leveled (314), but I'm usually 2nd best scoring or so player on my team, so I've got to contribute with spark running to help us win I figure. It's also not stressful like a raid task or something, it's easy.

The other thing is since I cant COUNT on any win, I'm going to adjust strat to cashing in bounties more later in the week so it'll be easier to rank. Which I was kind of planning on doing this IB anyway. That will mean less playtime/drops at rank X, but I dont really care, Covalance's is unlikely to drop with a better roll and I dont care about the other gear. Unless it could drop me a 320 class item, which is probably unicorn rare.

I dont know about Rift itself if it continues to be so difficult to win, but I rather enjoy these different game types in IB. Well, I guess they are annoying, but on the good side I'm already learning to play Rift a bit, where before I likely never would have.

Edit: never mind won about 5 rifts in a row. So I guess the win drought was temporary.

I think I'm going to wait IB out until the weekend. This allows the hardcore players to get rank 5 and leave. It also lets the xp bonus to get rather large. If I can get the two weekly bounties done and a few days of daily bounties, I think I can hit rank 4 or 5. My first IB I did basically in one day, the last one when the bonus was like 250%.

Rift is my least favorite team mode, so I may just skip it if I start getting annoyed.

I have reached 311 and did not feel anything different enough that warrant the grind compared to when I'm still 305.

The only thing I like is now I can get 310 exotics for infusion material from exotic engram lol.

Glad I save a bunch of them using the taniks before patched
