Destiny [PS3,X360,PS4,XO]

Yes! 44€ is ok imo. Furthermore, now that a friend talked me into buying BF:SW I don't care for wasting money at all anymore...

I am just wondering if there is any problem when starting the game right now...

Got a DIS 43 from this armsday with fitted stock, hand laid stock, and unflinching...just a couple matches so i dont wanna jump the gun but it seems pretty nice in PVP. Barely moves at all. With fitted+hand laid stability is close to maxed. I am not sure how much unflinching actually helps, I believe some redditors tested and it did little, but they may have buffed it in some update since then, I forgot to pay attention to if it was helping me though.

Had a 17-4 game on crossroads, probably one of my better k/d's ever I assume. It seems pretty OP to sit on that one ledge and snipe over to the other side.

I'm running sniper all the time now even on shotty maps, just to try and improve my sniping.

Love the 1K yard stare, I like the model which to me is important, I like the feel, the sights...

Defiance of Yasmin, Hereafter probably, beats it in relevant stats (besides revive snipes) but so far I just like 1KYS. Some guns just feel right beyond the stats (or vice versa IMO in the case of Omolon scouts).

wow checking Destiny TTK on my region and it says i already purchased. werid. Last time i downloaded that, its only a demo

1KYS is the best sniper in game ATM. One of the few snipers that can res snipe (which is important for ToO) and it has a fairly high aim assist. I used to use Defiance of Yasmin for the raid just for Cocoon, but the lower impact compared to 1KYS is noticeable. For example, you can't even 1-shot red health knights.

I will take months of extreme grind until you will feel comfortable about your equipment in the "end game" but then there's only really a limited amount of gear you actually use most of the time.

The game economy and RNG now are quite punishing for new comers. Is it worth it? That's more a subjective question. The time I've spent with this game is insane as the gunplay/mechanics is above anything I've ever played. But if you look into "meaning" and "narration" you might be quickly disappointed.

Anyway this game will be alive at least until Destiny 2 comes out so you have a year to "catch up".

I liked Black Spindle against Golgoroth, Sisters and Totem Knights. But if you can't pull 3 crit shots reliably against bosses 1KYS is more effective(was the case with Warpriest)

Black Spindle is definitely better for bosses with easy crit shots (so most bosses since they mostly just stand there) but outside of bosses, 1KYS is better IMO making it the better overall sniper. I'd rather have a larger clip + the higher fire rate, especially for PVP. There's no denying that 1KYS is the better PVP sniper, but you could definitely argue that Black Spindle is the better PVE sniper. I just prefer 1KYS since it's more versatile. Plus you have the chance to get more useful perks outside of boss fights. Stillpiercer is another popular sniper in crucible.

As for range, I don't understand your complaint. It has plenty enough range, and shortgaze is arguably the best scope in the game as it adds aim assist and is tied with ambush with being the shortest zoom (4.5x) which is generally desirable. It's very easy to get a roll with shortgaze too (one of the quests rewards a solid 1KYS with firefly and shortgaze).

Anyway, just speaking about Destiny itself, it's definitely starting to fade, at least among the people on my friends list. Even my clan mates don't play nearly as often, which makes me not want to play either. Last week I didn't finish 3 raids for the first time in a long time, and this week I've only done 1 raid and 1 nightfall. I might actually start to play other games for once! Destiny has literally taken up 99.9% of my gaming time since release.

No doubt about PvP. But try to shoot with 1KYS in the Sunless Cell Exotic Sword strike across the map with the Shriekers to get the Wizard at the exit. Then you really notice the range limitation with the weapon.

I'm still not sure what you mean. 1KYS being a regular legendary is not limited to one scope or range stat. The 1KYS that drops in the quest can match the range of 88 on the BS with rifled barrel and Shortgaze, and can probably even surpass it with a more ranged scope (it also comes with SIGHTSYS), making it even easier to snipe at distance. Add to that, 1KYS has a much higher base aim assist of 56 vs 39, which is improved further with certain scopes.

The most popular scope on the BS is ambush for its snappy 4.5x zoom, but that takes away aim assist. That's why Shortgaze is considered by many to be the best scope since it also has a snappy 4.5x zoom but it adds a considerable amount of aim assist. Longview SLR10 is also up there since it adds even more aim assist than shortgaze, but with a slightly less snappy 5x zoom. I use Shortgaze though since it seems to be more common on snipers vs Longview SLR10 and I want to have the same scope on all of my snipers for consistency reasons in PVP... I don't want the scope to affect my sniping ability, and the difference between the Longview SLR10 and Shortgaze is small but noticeable.

The ones I use have pretty short range but high 90-100% stability and then the weapon's range is limited in this area. Then you wonder if you're shooting beans than bullets. They nerfed sniper range significantly with TTK or the update before. Before range was never an issue for me with Snipers.

I just run through and trigger the new spawn point.

Bought it!
Game is super fun. Gameplay is really great so far. But I am only lvl 7 so far :)

I don't understand this light level my character has. I assume that the set of items and weapons that push me to the highest light level is the best, right?

Hunter class ftw!

YOu are pretty late :D ! But have fun, game is very fun ! Its only now after 1 year that I feel bored of it. But played one strike today and gunplay is still the best out there.

Generally yes. And the new loot system usually drops you gear that's slightly higher than what you have equipped when you're lower level, so having your highest level gear equipped is generally a good idea when you're starting out.

XP will level up your character's level, while defense/attack ratings will increase your light level. The fastest way to get XP is by doing story missions/quests and bounties. And I find the best way to get better gear is by doing strikes or quests.

I feel like the new endgame weirdly lends itself to playing less. Nightfall rewards are not that pressing, weekly is gone, and if you dont need marks (you shouldn't by now) and have all the quests you want done, there's really not much PVE to do. Just nightfall (and even that's fairly optional at 310+) and raid.

I rather love the freedom, TTK feels like by FAR the least stressful and most enjoyable Destiny endgame yet, yet as I said, paradoxically, I find myself playing substantially less, since there's less grind. So like I said, I like TTK endgame, yet it causes me to play substantially less.

Also, the 320 cap...it should allow for even more grind since it's going to be very difficult to hit 320, MUCH more difficult than to hit the cap in past expansions. Yet I find myself, rather than desperately trying to achieve 320, feeling fairly comfortable in my 310+ rating. Almost feeling like 320 is some out of reach goal so why bother trying? Again, on paper it gives you much more to play for, but in practice I find it lends itself to playing less, just getting a 310+ rating and then relaxing.

I'm starting to get psyched about The Division, I think it may replace Destiny for me...

320 is nearly impossible. I've been doing 3x raids and ToO and I'm still only 316. The highest I've seen is 318 (an opponent in ToO) and the highest person on my friends list is 317. Honestly, there's very little difference once you reach ~311 in any event where light matters (HM raid, ToO or Iron Banner) so really it's just bragging rights.

If you already have all of the exotics, there's little reason to do nightfall now. Rewards should be based on your light level, but you still can't get 311+ gear or weapons. I don't even care to do the nightfall anymore. ToO, HM raid and Iron Banner are the only things that interest me (in that order).

I'm just randomly join my friend list if I saw any of them playing with free slot lol. I don't understand the allure of using different weapons that does not have unique attack. The void needles fusion rifle is nice unique, but everything else I just use the highest light to shoot stuff.
