Destiny [PS3,X360,PS4,XO]

Some have suggested they should have done both, IE horde mode and a raid. I dont see how BOTH could be the endgame activity though. It really had to be one or the other imo. Maybe you could try making both of them endgame at the same time (IE, both drop full sets of 34 gear I guess) but it'd be weird/halfassed imo. And I think people would just flock to whichever activity was perceived as the slightly easier one.

Yes. Plus if they did have a Raid in HoW that would make 3 endgame armor activities because of the trials of Osiris.

PS I do hope they manage to have 2 sets of armor drop in the Prison of Elders for all races so top level players could have more variety in the way they look.
 
I am okay with no Raid and a new mode instead. I am just worried about new currencies being locked to single activities again.
Yes, I also hope PoE has matchmaking, but even if it doesn't , getting 3 friends together at a time is much easier than 6.
 
Actually, something other than a raid sounds interesting. Destiny could use a Firefight mode like some of the Halo games had. Those were fun as hell and a nice change from competitive MP.
 
They should still allow 6 fireteam instead of forcing 3 fireteam. Heck, limit the 6 fireteam only for current gen consoles and add double enemies if they are too lazy to properly level the game*

*generally bungie is rather good at leveling their missions according to player count. I think all missions except raid did this auto balancing (less enemy when less player).

If remember well Halo Reach Firefight can have a rely high number of Covenants at same (around 40+?).
 
Hey guys, bungie did it again!
Like to use sniper to snipe? Beware! Bungie have specific vision for sniper usage. You did it not according to bungie's vision and it get patched.

What next? Shotgun that must be used while hugging enemy? Invisibility perk that only works when bungie give their blessing?

Archon Strike, the field where theres a war between Vex and Fallen. Where you need to tell dinklebot to open door for 3 waves.
if you snipe, the game wont progress. You will need to "scan" dinklebot again.

man if this was a PC game, i will simply hack around the files or memory hack out of it. Really really hate when developers do whatever they like very arbitrary.

So I dont know, looks like you will upgrade your old gear all at once. Somehow...but point being you wont have to re-level all the perks.

Also, learned Tower Ghost has loadouts that handle many weapons (as opposed to DIM which last I saw only let you do one primary/special/heavy).

With this you could just do, void loadout, arc, solar, all burn, no burn, then maybe vog, crota...an upgrade loadout, fast hunter loadout, etc.

My whole strategy of leveling 50k guns so I have three multiples of everything important may have been stupid. If I can get this working easily. I kind of prefer the idea of having the BEST possible loadout anyway. (IE, on a void burn I dont necessarily want "the void stuff I have on this character" but, "the very best void stuff I have".

Upgrades for everyone, dlc or not and all.materials can be exchanged.......good stuff. So I can do what I love to do and still get other stuff which is required. My main gripe has been solved. Thanx.
Funny thing is all gear can be level 34 now ! I don't know what to feel about that. No aim , my current gear can become 34. I am not like that, I want new stuff to wear so I will be looking for drops as usual but I am very impatient in games so I will also end up upgrading old stuff too and then craving for new ones and wasting materials.

RR, you say materials can be exchanged...ascendants included? I have over 1000 shards and over 600 energy.

Yes, all materials can be exchanged. You go to the speaker and exchange energy, shards, motes of light etc. Basically, if u have anything piled up, u can now convert it into what u want. This takes away my major complaint that the game was forcing me to play Crota for radiant stuff.....now I can keep doing the dailies and pub events, earn ascendent stuff and convert them to radiant and use them as I wish. Basically, it gives mW freedom to play what I like and still level up and not be forced to play something bungie wants.


Also, all old gear can go to level 34 now. If u like a particular armour's perks, level that IP instead of finding new one.

Also, all legendary weapons can be reforged now. Keep doing it till u hit a combo of perks u like. A bit like Diablo 3.
 
its aailable on bungie twitch arcived video but the buffer take ages. dunno server load or my shitty internet

btw new weapons already max 365 from vendor. They didnot have "damage upgrade" nodes.
 
I like all these changes but I constantly worry they're making the game too easy as well... Renegade you do make a good point though and a huge complaint I had with TDB...that radiant mats were raid only.

The one that sounds the most possibly disturbing to me is if guns are going to be 365 attack out of the box now? I think perhaps guns, especially exotics, need to be a little easier to level, but that may go too far. I dont want the game to become a cakewalk nor us have nothing to grind for. I think that's what Bungie needs to be careful of. People already complain about lack of content.

Also, reforging weapons is another thing that seems like it could break a lot of the game's loops. They need to make the barrier sufficiently high that you cant just reforge willy nilly imo. I guess it's two motes or whatever? That's probably high enough as motes are not that easy to come by.


Overall cautiously pretty thrilled though.

Also, glad I kept all my ascendant shards etc :) I have a huge surplus of ascendant shards and radiant energy, and both should be useful now.

And it's interesting how the tenor in the Destiny community went from "no raid, I'm quitting!" last week to pretty positive this fast.

I don't really get the point of the Reef. As if the Tower hadn't enough space for extra dealers and loading another shop center is just wasting people's time.
 
@Rangers : currency conversion is good for old players but it will be confusing for a new player. It seems to be feedback based decision. And I am with u on reforging , it needs to have a significant cost attached to it. The point is not to make the game loop itself redundant.

I think trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders are their 'planned ' decisions to provide new fresh content while levelling up old gear+weapons+reforging and making currencies interchangeable have been made to bring the +tivity back. I don't see these decisions making a new player happy. It takes awaybteh incentive to do a specific game type. Its like Bungi now has no way to guide a new player to try out a game mode as , if he so wishes, he can just keep playing one. For an old timer like me, its good, I just wanna run the ROC non stop. But for a new player there's just a bunch of game modes and where all can be had from any of them. Except for the Raid weapons , I guess that's why Bungie went ahead with the decision. As , if someone wants a Fatebringer, like me, he will still have to get into Raiding.

I think Bungie must have thought about the Pros and cons real hard before letting it happen. Its not something u can ever roll back.

I am more interested in what new weapons they bring. Why is it that the original weapons are still the best ? I want HOW to bring "must have " weapons like Gallahorn, Ice Breaker and Fatebringer ! Bungie needs to get creative again ! There are hopes as they showed a high impact+high firerate AR in the stream. Hope they are ready to experenr again a and stop playing safe with weapons !

I guess Queens bounties/ranks only give you the chance to buy cosmetic items? Not sure it's worth it. Although then again, why not?

It seems like the crown jewel is that ship, but it wont be uncommon anyway lots will get it, kind of ruining the allure imo. Now if it looked ridicu amazing (which is a matter of subjective taste), I'd want it anyway. But if it just looks "good" as is, then it needs to be rare for me to care about acquiring it that much.

Yeah I guess a high impact high ROF Auto rifle is one backhanded way to get around the nerf...seems odd though, why nerf at all then? Seems to me like they should have just left auto rifles alone last patch while buffing pulse etc, and things would be ok, or at least better, with all primary classes being closer to equal. Even before last patch I felt like Auto's were rather weak, but it wasn't as bad obviously. Bungie seemed to have bad data and bad judgement if I recall, they showed a high percent of players in both PVE and PVP were using autos, but I think they cared most about PVP, but the reason people were doing that was the auto rifle headshot bounty! So the stats they nerfed AR's over was tainted data to begin with. Very incredibly dumb imo. Ok, they buffed pulse and pulse isn't useless anymore, but now AR is, they accomplished nothing.

But to your other point, that was one issue I had with allowing pre-expansion guns to be upgraded, it creates a situation where Fatebringer, Gjallahorn, etc are the best guns forever. Because the only option to avoid that is make better guns. But then you are upsetting the balance of the game. The example I use is if you make a rocket launcher better than Gjallahorn, well that's going to be an extremely powerful RL and overwhelm PVE content. But it's hard to say if this is really a problem. Nothing wrong with a gun being "best" for a long time I suppose.

One term I noticed they used is "year one". They said this will upgrade to the year one attack cap or something on the stream. I havent seen this speculated anywhere, but it almost makes me wonder if they are planning the cutoff point for leaving a lot of things behind to be the comet expansion (which would be "year 2" as it will likely hit in September). Like maybe comet guns will be 400 attack and there will be no upgrading "year one" guns past 365? Of course there will be a backlash again if they do that...but maybe they can sell it better as comet will be like Destiny 1.5, probably cost $40, etc. Just basically be more of a clean reboot than these DLC's.

Also if they keep VOG at 30, eventually it will become a pushover, right? So it will become easy to get Fatebringer etc.

Datto does basically say "year one" weapons will be left behind in year two as I speculated.
