Destiny [PS3,X360,PS4,XO]

I think this is a world first for me...turned in 10 bounties at once :p That'll level some stuff.

37,500 EXP, Plus telemetries for certain weapons, plus the nightfall buff if I can find somebody to run it with me in the next 15 minutes.

Yeah tranner. That was my best raid.

Btw it turned out I also got praedith revenge again lol. O have maaaaany of em

I'm more and more considering deleting a character. The upkeep on 3 is just too much. There's no way to have time to run 3X nightfall, run 3X weekly, run 3X hard raid, level enough weapons and armor for 3 chars, resources for all that stuff...I hardly ever feel like I have fun time in the game to just chill. I think 2 would just decrease the time demands of the game by a lot.

Heck this week I already started running the weekly heroic (which is pretty hard now, it's harder to solo stuff now for sure) for the second time and just realized, what am I doing? I dont even want these coins. I have 80, and should I ever somehow really need some I can get 27 any week. It was freeing. I just quit out and it felt good. And I sharded some legendary stuff I've been hanging onto and that also felt good. Even a weapon or two.

I could keep the character and just abandon him, in case I change my mind. However as long as it's there I know the OCD part of me wont let that happen. I'll constantly be thinking in terms of needing 3 strings of weapons and armor instead of 2. Like "oh, I'll keep that third Epilogue just on case my 3rd guy ever need it".

For now I'll think I'll stay at 3 depending how Dark Below shakes out. There may come a time I feel like needing to run that raid 3X to accelerate the path to 32. Seriously considering dropping 3rd character though.

3 is just to much to juggle mentally...trying to keep track of all the weapons and armor...what to upgrade, what I have, etc etc.

I did the weekly 28 with my Warlock and besides the pesky 3 Wizards following you in the corridor I had no problem at all. Against the boss I just waited at the entrance and killed everything walking to the entrance with Icebreaker and then cleaned the room with the exception of Phogoth. First I wanted to try it from the right platform at the back as that was the position I've used before but I failed the jump and Phogoth got active so I had to run to the rock location.
If you ignore the first mob which arrives with the ship and only concentrate on Phogoth you don't meet any Wizards in the chamber.

About the 2nd/3rd character. After I fully enable the armor(at least to 29/PvE) I see no reason to run 3x activities unless I need something. I just pass down what equipment I can't use with my primary. It levels out in the end anyway. The DLC seem to change the whole legendary/exotic equipment leveling anyway.

BTW, while I used Stranger's Rifle and Fair and Square I've noticed they sometimes shoot a random shot as they seem to run into the Auto mode unintended. With my Auto Rifle I've never run into that condition as I have full control over single/burst. Looks to be some timing bug with Pulse/Auto perk to me.

Yeah, the 28 weekly isn't bad I guess, I've soloed dozens of them. You just have to be patient. But I do think it's harder now, the enemies are tanks. I just wasn't in the mood for it I guess. I soloed it 1X. Dont really need coins though.

About 3X weekly, well, I do (did) the weekly 3X for more coins, and the Raid 3X for loot. Nightfall for the XP buff on each char, and secondarily loot (but I dont want much anymore, mostly fatebringer and corrective measure and Raid gear with intellect/discipline rolls, all of which I think only fall in raid).

I guess it's just the fact getting, arming, and maintaining 3 30's is 3X the work. I have 2 30's and the armor for the 3rd. it just needs resources to be upgraded.

I got my Warlock to lvl 30, so I'm ready to try the hard raid. Is it any different from the normal raid, encounter-wise? Or just more and tougher enemies? Here are best weapons I have: http://destinystatus.com/xbl/NRP

They're mostly crap, so I'm sure I'll be at a disadvantage. I also pack a maxed out legendary hand cannon and nearly maxed out arc rocket launcher. I really need some freakin weapons.

First of all, there's no reviving during most of the hard raid... once you're dead, you're dead until the next checkpoint or until everyone else dies. Probably the most important thing about the hard raid is survival. If everyone's alive, you'll probably be ok.

-The first part (guarding the plates/forming the spire) is exactly the same, because it is in a public area.
-The gorgon maze part is a bit different I think, but I dunno how exactly.
-At Atheon, if you don't get teleported, it will put you in one of those bubbles that you have to break out of (which you do by shooting/melee, but no rockets!). If you walk/fall out of the bubble before breaking it, you'll die, so don't be jumping around during teleports, because if you're in the air and the bubble appears, you'll fall out of it and probably die. Sometimes even when you get teleported, the bubble will form around you, but I think that's a glitch and it's not supposed to happen.
-Oracles take more shots to destroy (or maybe that's just because I'm only level 29)

IMO, it's ideal to have a good sniper rifle at atheon for accuracy/to get high DPS (unless you have gjallarhorn), especially with weapons of light from the Titan bubble.
Other than that, your weapons are ok. I've done the hard raid with people who've had worse weapons. Just remember to have ammo synthesis because you'll probably find yourself wanting to use your heavy weapons more often.

How do you break out of a bubble, shoot it or melee it? I think I saw something like that in the video Strange posted earlier.

Yeah I edited that in. You shoot/melee it, but obviously don't shoot rockets.

These bubbles also form around you during the templar battle in both modes if you do it legitimately (which I've only done once in my first raid before the cheese was known).

Thanks for the tips. I have a nearly maxed legendary void sniper, but it has a low Impact rating, so it kind of sucks. I'll bring it along anyway though.

Np.

I can't believe you hit level 30 before me! I'm jealous. I've done the raid 20 or 21 times, including 3.5 times on hard that gives you 2x the rewards, and I still need either a chest piece of helmet.

Hard Raid tips;
- if 1 die, just suicide and start over. except if you are in the "end of checkpoint".
- cheese as much as possible
--- templar conflux defending, you RUN to the spirit bloom wall-hole when fanatics come.
--- templar oracle killing, all of your team STAY on top of cliff and snipe the oracles. (@djskribbles know other awesome spot)
--- Templar killing, push him with warlock and titan.
--- Gatekeeper killing, shoot him from the door. DONT GO INSIDE the gatekeeper room. After that, snipe all snipers without going outside.
--- Oracles inside Past/Future gate, shot them BEFORE they sing and in MIDDLE.
--- Oracles inside Past/Future gate, shot them with Golden Gun for 1 hit kill (as long as you shot before they sing).
--- Oracles inside Past/Future gate, shot them with Super Good Advise because they count as "missed shots" so you have near unlimited ammo.
--- Oracles inside Past/Future gate, if you failed to kill 2 of them, just go outside the gate and skip the time vengeance. no need to restart the whole session.
- keep using super all the time. You will drop more super orbs.
- dont take risk. Staying alive is much better than killing enemies faster.
- if you can handle RPG, keep a few ammo on Truth or Gjalahorm.

and the most important things,
1. play to enjoy the experience, dont expect awesome loot (except if you are always lucky).
2. keep the gameplay experience cheerful. Dont say something like "you ******* why you die you piece of ***" or something :p

Those are good general tips for raid.
--- templar oracle killing, all of your team STAY on top of cliff and snipe the oracles. (@djskribbles know other awesome spot)
This guy gets to the spot a different way than I do, but this is the spot orangpelupa is referring to.

Instead of going around to the back, you can also get there from the front if you can jump high enough.

When it's time for oracles at the templar, everyone wipe/suicide and you'll spawn up top. One guy jumps down to begin the phase and jumps up to the above spot and takes care of the back/left oracle. Everyone else just snipes the oracles from up top.

Hard raid isn't really hard anymore, people are getting quite good. I got in a team that beat it Oracles checkpoint through Atheon in like 35 minutes last week (granted confluxes are time consuming).

It's just best imo to have at least 4 30's if possible.

You can hit frustrating spells though, and if your team isn't good there will be problems. And imo beware of teams that try to sneak some like, 27's, 28's in and think everything will be ok. Red flag imo because it will usually end in frustration.

actually its the weapon level that really affect hard mode.
i've completed hard mode many times since i dont know... i never level 30.
despite low level, i still kills oracles, terminators, etc because i have max for the weapons.

on level 29, even sniper goblin shot took 2 hit to kill. so a bit mistake is still fine.

on the other hand ,when i use not max weapon... its nightmare

It's not that hard for 29s to do the hard raid. But I agree with Rangers that you need at least 3 30s, simply for relic duty at atheon. It's pretty difficult for 29s, even with help. And when you have 4 29s, there's a pretty good chance that 3 29s will get teleported.

3 30s and 3 29s isn't too difficult; orangpelupa and I beat it pretty quickly with 3 30s. 4 30s and 2 29s is pretty easy. If everyone in the group is good, then 4 29s and 2 30s is doable, but pretty hard.

We came very close to beating atheon with 4 29s (and one mediocre 30 who was terrible with the relic). If it weren't for glitches, we probably would have beat it at least twice.

I got in a hard raid group yesterday with I think 2 or 3 30s and the rest 29s. We couldn't get past the point right after the Spire (where the fanatics come in). I pretty much held my own, but if even one person dies you're screwed. They were an amicable group who seemed to know each other, but either they weren't very good or lvl 29s are at a relatively huge disadvantage.

At this rate, I won't get any good weapons for the foreseeable future, unless Xur sells something worthwhile. My top desired weapons are as follows:
1. Ice Breaker
2. Gjallarhorn
3. Vision of Confluence
4. Corrective Measure

When the fanatics/harpies start coming, you can just hide in the 'spirit bloom chest' room. They're on a timer and there's nothing to defend.

You are at a pretty significant disadvantage when you're level 29. You do considerably less damage and take considerably more damage. I imagine that it would be pretty easy for me at level 30. I think Strange has said that once you reach level 30, it's about the same as doing the normal raid at level 28/29 (or something along those lines).

I guess I shouldn't say it's not that hard to do the hard raid at level 29, but it's not too bad at all if you have quite a bit of VoG experience and you have maxed out weapons. It can be pretty easy if you're with an experienced group.

BTW, Bungie just released another patch. Some exotics got buffed and a few got nerfed a bit (Suros is the one I remember). They also patched the templar push. :(

Quite a few other notable changes, but I'm too lazy to post. But here are the notes:
