what does Nintendo need? A good strategy and marketing department. If you ask me, I think Nintendo is on the loosing end (long run) in compeeting hardware. Sony wants to offer something with PSP that Nintendo will never follow: a multi media device. Nintendo should get out a reasonable handheld with competitive enough graphics, although cheaper and more resistent. They should also make sure to keep up their software support and let the mindshare keep people focused on the good old Gameboy. Other than that, with Sony producing practically everything that's in the PSP, I don't see how Nintendo can actually stay competitive in the long run (hardware competitive, that is) - but then again, they might not need to, if they play their cards right.
