100 MH/S for 30w is insane. I remember needing 800 watts for that speed.

How extensive and dangerous to Nvidia could this hack be? There seems to be an implication that a lot of low level data has been taken, including driver code, BIOS info, chip design information, enough to apparently expose a lot of design secrets.

Or they could be bluffing, it's really hard to tell. Probably only the hackers & nVidia know the truth and neither is gonna be talking.

It's possible also that the hackers themselves misunderstand what they've got..

They are just empty threats so far. Release something with meat on it and we will see if they are bullshitters or not. No sane competitor would use the information under these circumstances.

They wont copy whatever's been leaked directly into their designs, no. But that wouldn't make it "unusable"

The hackers would provide proof of some of the data they have to Nvidia. You can't really bluff your way through extortion of such a large company.
What about someone like China? They don't exactly care much about trade secrets of western countries.

I would guess it isn't just straight forward and the full architecture or software have many pieces to the puzzle. Like a patent.

Anyone with Netflix should what their documentary titled "Trust No One, The Hunt for the Crypto King". It's about QuadrigaCX Bitcoin exchange, the CEO faking his death, the exchange withholding $250 million of people's money, and how Gerald Cotten (CEO) ran earlier scams as Sceptre/Murdock since age 14 or 15 and the other founder ran Identify Theft rings.
