If one accepts, for example, that the hypotheisis that covid was actually an accidental leak from Wuhan's gain of function research, which seems to now be accepted by most as the most likely origin by most experts
That's absolutely untrue.

give it 20 years that will be prime real estate, for the US lib partyAny taxes in Antarctica? Plenty of space to live down there.
valid pointBut how low does the probability of a bad case of covid have to be for us to cross the threshold of cost-benefit in requiring them of everybody all the time.
1. You are (most likely wrong) about the lab leak from wuhanIf one accepts, for example, that the hypotheisis that covid was actually an accidental leak from Wuhan's gain of function research, which seems to now be accepted by most as the most likely origin by most experts, it serves as a perfect picture of the dangers of big-state. China is far from an organizational utopia, but I don't think that happens despite the large and centralized nature of its government, but as a predictable consequence. Covid could possibly not have gotten as out of hand, had the leak occured in a less bureocratic country, since more freedom leads to more whistleblowing and honesty/transparency. It's pretty obvious China authories tried sweeping this fuck-up under the rug to cover their asses, while the problem got much worse than it needed to.
to be honest I am a bit annoyed that kids are forced to wear masks in some countries. We adults can take it easier. But kids are being deprived and limited a lot socially. Its sn important age for the development of their personalities and skills. Its also an important age to develop their immune systems that will help then for the rest of their lives. I understand that they might carry the various but all factors should be considered.
According to experts and based on the data, younger ages have nothing to worry about unless they have other serious health issues which is a tiny group. In which case, masks or not its a risk just to be in school or outside,What happens to their development if they get sick?
Or if they infect their parents and other adults around them and they get severe disease?
Because I believe there are such cases, kids get "bad cold" symptoms while their parents end up hospitalized.
(devils advocate) perhaps fuck just the sick kids is better than fuck all the kids (is it just me or doesnt this sound a bit pedo-y )Yeah, fuck those sick kids. Tough luck on them for being poorly in the first place, eh?
“A year on I’ve been proven pretty much wrong on all of it,” Holmes says.
Full vaccination and a Delta breakthrough offer the best protection against Covid-19.
Heck, so would the 12 million or so unvaccinated children in the UK, most of whom will be returning to schools in less than 2 weeks without any form of protection or mitigation in place.
Actually as part of my PADI open water diver certification we were required to take off our mask and all other equipment underwater and leave it at the deep end of a pool at the bottom, then swim down and put it all on without coming up.On a related note : Anti-maskers try SCUBA diving - It doesn't end well

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A family is dealing with the tragic loss of their 16-year-old who died from COVID-19.
A spokesperson for Wolfson Children’s Hospital said the teen died Thursday. The hospital is not releasing details, citing patient privacy laws.
But a statement said in part: “The death of a child is always tragic, and our hearts are with the family as they grieve this loss.”
This heartbreaking news is a reminder that COVID-19 poses a risk to children.
The two billion or so children on the planet would beg to differ that we're amywhere near full vaccination.
The columns under 20 year old's in UK look pretty short to me, but let's be super worried about those anyway.
Do you have any other source than "Voice of America"? I don't find them all that credible. There are also kids dying because of the masks + physical excercise.

They're like the kids column in my country was a few weeks ago, but it's amazing how quickly they grow when they keep doubling week over week. The columns under 20 year old's in UK look pretty short to me, but let's be super worried about those anyway.
